dark red in the glass with a flowery bouquet, excellent balance in the mouth, and a loooong finish! Who could ask for anything more? This definitely is in my top ten list!

Steak wine. Full stop. Dark rich blackberry starts melting into a tannic tobacco and stringent oak finish. Amazing!!

Outstanding Douro red. On the nose, a rich bouquet of blackberry, plum, green pepper, smoky aromas, licorice and chocolate. So much complexity! On the palate, full bodied and medium dry, deep black fruit and chocolate flavors, but is then balanced by great acidity. An outstanding wine, a couple of years away from greatness!

Um 2011 absolutamente harmonioso! Perfeito de entrada e saida apenas podia ter mais nariz mas com 7 anos estava fantastico. Excelente representante da casta

東京大丸「世界の酒とチーズフェスティバル」後夜祭にて試飲。ドウロの赤ワイン。ポルトガルでも最も高価なワインの一本との事。ここはもともとポートワインのための葡萄を作っていたとの事。 産地は川沿いの急斜面の段々畑だそうでこちらも世界遺産になっているそうです。50種類以上の葡萄を混植して作っているそうですが、どこにどの品種が植えられているかはきちんと把握されていて、万が一葡萄が枯死する様な事があっても同じ品種を植え替えられる様になっているそうです。ポートワインの産地という事もあるのか、こちらは非常に濃厚で酸はあまり感じない、チョコレートのニュアンスもあり、甘みが後味に残る様なタイプのワインだと思いました。
