Tasting Profile

Stands out from the rest of the range (only wine from HPF that is a single varietal). Also stands out for it’s exceptional profile!
Delicious. Blackcurrants, plum, hints of vanilla & tobacco, liquoric licorice and cloves. Soft, smooth and well rounded. Stunning wine.
Delicious. Blackcurrants, plum, hints of vanilla & tobacco, liquoric licorice and cloves. Soft, smooth and well rounded. Stunning wine.
Lovely smooth and complex notes of butter, vanilla, oak and honey on the palate with minerals throughout. Definitely not your run of the mill Sauv blanc.
Top SB, concentratie, geel, eiken in de afdronk maar niet over de top. Value for money. Lekkerste wijn van HPF naar mijn mening
Bold fruit follow by allspice and flint. I get the cloves along the finish. Excellent price quality ratio.
I thoroughly enjoyed this wine. I'm a little obsessed with anything malbec so this was right up my alley. Lovely for a winter's evening.
Strong vanilla and corriander on the nose. Soft drinking.
oak leather plum cigar
Soft wine tastes of berry excellent with meat
Dark berries taste great depth
Strong berries, pepper corn on the nose and taste. My wife says its her favourite wine of all time.. who am I to argue! BTW she rated this one!
The 2019 is a monumental shift for the brand. The style has been refined under the skillful hand of Wilhelm. An exciting wine to find.
Phenomenal Cab Franc. One of the bests out there. Smooth earthy notes and a black fruit mouthfeel that lingers. One of my favourites in South Africa!! Get a case!
Gorgeous Cab Franc. Spicy nose; fruit, spice and tobacco on palate. Gorgeous mouthfeel.
oak leather earthy blackcurrant tobacco just wow
Genieten deze wijn. Houtrijping op eiken. Tonen van vanille en donker fruit zoals pruim. Op de geur ook wel iets weg van een sigarenkistje. Love it!
Full, rich and smoky with lovely earthy notes alongside Leather blackcurrant and black pepper.
Such a smooth red. Typical Shiraz. blackcurrant notes
Really really good Sauv Blanc. Thicker on the palate with a very refreshing flavour of gooseberry and guava. Gorgeous
Dark cherry, transparent red colour. Cherries, licorice, leather, plum, vanilla, garlic on the nose. Spicy, smoke on the palette. Light bodied. Light tannins. Very instructive for pure Cabernet Franc flavour
Fullbodied shiraz with zesty dark fruit and well balanced
Pale golden with grass notes, guava, apple, asparagus, minerals completes a suitably complex Sauvignon Blanc picture.
Yum! At meet on milner
A little bit different to the typical SA Rose. On the nose more predominant red fruit, strawberry and watermelon with a creamy undertone rather than citrus acidity. The atypical oak influence is evident in the darker colour as well as the texture and structure of the wine. The palate follows the nose in that the acidity is substituted for more texture, strawberries and cream leading the way. The finish is pleasant and lingering.
Oak maturation smooths out some of the typical acidity and improves the wine overall from the kaalvoet meisie.
Delicous. Special fermenty smell and green taste, whilst still being balanced. My favourite sauvignon blanc
I like this merlot. Good balance of spice and savory notes with good black fruit with light oak. Nothing too distinct but balanced and easy drinking. Nice spice notes.
Rose petal, molasses. Light and surprisingly soft. Juicier than expected, low to mid tannin, could develop a bit longer. Needs a little complexity but flavorsome and quality.
Loved this wine. Crisp, but like a chameleon with our food. So delicious. Minerality and just the right amount of fruit.
I like this merlot. Good balance of spice and savory notes with good black fruit with light oak. Nothing too distinct but balanced and easy drinking. Nice spice notes.
I liked this merlot. As recommended South African wines are really good value for money. This one just tastes of nice red wine - nothing remarkable but extraordinary value for money. It went particularly well with a cheese and meat board we had ordered Connolly’s Birmingham
Very nice merlot. Not overly tannic, but beautifully balanced dark fruit, some oak and ripe red fruit.
Earthy, leather, tobacco, smoke. Lots going on in here, in a good way. Fairly light color and body. Need another glass!
Fruity, bold, almost dry but sweet, excellent wine
A smooth easy merlot medium bodied cherry and plum flavours.
Well priced, lekker 2. Waterige einde tho. Local sea view helps
Great value and full of fruit (red currant and black currant). Perfect pairing for a braai but lacks elegance. Some more oak and a cork would have lifted it to the next level. Perhaps I should have waited another year?
Rose petal, molasses. Light and surprisingly soft. Juicier than expected, low to mid tannin, could develop a bit longer. Needs a little complexity but flavorsome and quality.
Nose: woah, quite chocolate for a Shiraz, with a hint of fermented juice Palate: spicy and smooth. Numbs the mouth a little then washes with liquorice Finish: chewy and pleasant Overall: very nice easy Shiraz.
Dark fruit white pepper black olive lighter style fruit presents on the palate
Strange smell on the nose, flint smoke, dry on the palate, smooth finish.
Very much an above average Shiraz - interesting terroir.
oak pepper black olive plum smooth
't genot zit 'm net zoveel in de neus als in de bek. Heerlijk!
Smooth, fruity flavors of bananas and a hint of marzipan.
Smooth and delicious
Exceptionally unusual rose given that it's base is a Bordeaux blend of five, but very well rounded and soft. The palate is candied cherry, marzipan, strawberry and cream.
Nice Strawberry and cream aroma. Complex palate of red fruit and mulberry. It’s a nice fresh blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Girl with the long legs is great.
Salmon pink Bordeaux blend! Crisp fruity acidity. Full mouth, soft wood. Pleasant finish.
strawberry raspberry peach mulberry 🍉 watermelon. Delightfully fruity in a hot afternoon with a sea view. Perfectly paired with shellfish 🦐 🎶🫶🏻
Loved this wine. Crisp, but like a chameleon with our food. So delicious. Minerality and just the right amount of fruit.
Guava lime oak citrus minerality good smooth finish
Lovely wooded SB. Enjoyed immensely
Lees minerally than the kaalvoet meissie, and more oaky
Mouthful of crispy green fruits! Lovely drinking wine.
Very nice for new name
Stachelbeere, etwas Zitrus, Eiche sehr geschmeidig. Im Geschmack wunderbare Säure, nicht zu dominant. Grandioser Wein!
Crisp, fresh finish. Beautiful hint of the Atlantic Ocean and a lovely minerality. Perfect for hot summer afternoons or evenings.
A little floral. Grass, apple
Unique, really good!
Fresh on the palate with a vibrant apple notes. Lovely finish!
asparagus gooseberry tropical Loved the acidity and the long finish.
A truly great wine. Oak and dark fruit flavours of cassis, black currant and plum. A heavy wine with great body and a lingering finish.
3.9 / 5 - Interesting flavours here, certainly on the lighter side of these grapes. Quite a chalky texture too. Perfectly adequate all together
Capsicum, dark berries, black pepper, beetroot, earthy. Soft and round. Medium minus acidity and very dry medium dark berries finish
2019 vintage. Medium purple in the glass. Notes of red cherry with hints of leather oak and vanilla. Slightly tart on the palate. Easy drinking and enjoyable. 3.8 ⭐️
Easy drinking fairly dry rosé, very pleasant
あまり得意じゃない香り そしてなぜか後頭部痛くなる
青さが目立つ、還元臭 ゴールデンイエロー
Great pink color. Nice nose with cherry, mellon and herbs. Mellow start with dry and acidic middle. Rich and strong minerality. Sea and Ocean salty notes.
strawberry dominating nose and palate. Fruit forward with a distinct note of raspberry candy floss oak and a subtle cream element. Wouldn’t necessarily classify as a dry Rosé. Light and easy drinking.
I loved the acidity and the light tanin and it a very nice bottle for a summer afternoon just relaxing strawberry
Ok, not something i would buy.
