Amazing delicious and complex!! After 2.5 hours of decanting this baby is singing ;-) deep Ruby, amazing aromas of cassis, red cherries, wet forest floor, a light touch of barnyard and animalistic notes, full body with robust round tannins, fantastic acidity and a light touch of smoky finish. Delicious and delightful. My score 92, drink to 2025. I suggest to open only around 2020 not before.

From La Riotte, a premier cru just beneath Morey-Saint-Denis village. Quite a deep colour. Fresh and aromatic, rose, black cherry and blackberry with a bit of sous-bois and spice. A hint of liquorice, which is more prominent on the palate. Sweet black fruit in the mouth, pepper, nutmeg, earth, leaf. Lovely intensity and length, soft and mineral, some dryness through the finish from the whole bunches. This is charming Burgundy, juicy, energetic and very easy to drink. Should be good for another 1

Fantastic wine, oaky slightly smoky bouquet, mature tannins, dried fruit well aged, liquorice and spices. Paired really well with BBQ lamb and thick British pork sausages.

Earthy, mushrooms and oak on the nose enveloped by fresh cherry aroma. The minerals show up further along with strawberries and a little oak. Nice mild pepper notes show up later too. Nice complex drop.

Ohh.. This is a wine that shows class. That soft but oh so sweet delicate richness that a well maturing good red offers. Nose of sweet blackberry and dark cocoa liquorice. Palette so ripe - hint of fruit and jam before wonderful tannins and supple but refined acidity offer a finish you wish would never end. Is this what I seek?

When saint's goes ...to heaven! By far the most silky velvety Bourgogne in my short Burgundian life. It has a lovely whipped cream texture, amazing. Cherries, dark ones, menthol dipped rock's and the balance baby! The balance of the acidity, fruit and tannins is world-class, the feminine finish with whiffy perfume flower is out of this world elegant! Love it....

This initially shows the typical signature of underripeness from Taupenot Merme wines. Aromas of candied red cherry, cherry liqueur, a touch savory of tomato leaves, and some light sweet spices notes. The oak is well integrated. The palate has fresh acidity, good concentration, tannins that are firm, intense and slightly dry, and very good length. Even at an early stage of development this is drinking quite well, with a delicious fresh fruit character, light body, and a savory note. Impressive.

行きつけのフレンチにて。「ドメーヌ・トプノ・メルム」を初めて飲みました。2001年からビオロジックなど、新しい栽培・醸造を導入していますが、こちらは1998年なのでクラシックスタイルのワイン。味わいは薄旨系なのですが、色調がとても濃いです。まだまだぜんぜんフレッシュでした。おそらくもともとはめちゃくちゃ酸が強く、タンニンも豊富だったのでしょう。これは美味しかったです。 以下、ショップのコメント→美しいルビーカラー。チェリーやブラックカラントのアロマに、 モレ・サン・ドニ・プルミエ・クリュ特有の木やスパイス、ジビエのアロマが加わり、リッチでエレガント、力強さとバランスの良さが魅力のワインです。素晴らしく滑らかなテクスチャーに酸とタンニンがしっかりと溶け込んだ、パワフルな味わいです。

Great Pinot from Côtes des Nuits. Medium to full bodied. Robust wine, almost chewy. There is a lot of material here. Notes of plum, black cherry, blackberry.

The wine is very polished, fruit acid and tannins in beautiful balance with fruit really shinging A lovely wine

Schwarze Kirschenfrucht, leicht animalisch, viel Lakritz und andere Gewürze. Sehr präzis, grossartige Säure, fleischig, explosives, sehr langes Finale.

A precise and modern Premier Cru showing engaging complexity. The nose is expressive, offering a mix of red and black fruit scents with notes of pressed flowers and bergamot tea. Initial oak is well-supported by the fruit. The medium-bodied palate is sleek and energetic with supple tannins and very well-judged acidity. It finishes with a gorgeous, velvety texture that is both persistent and carries a pleasing tension. Best enjoyed now or with further cellaring through 2040.

Needs more time. Drank better on the second day, where it showed raspberry and red currant flavours off a strawberry, almost vanilla nose with some gentle cinnamon and nutmeg underneath. Big body and tannin. Five more years...

2002 vs. 2010 Morey Saint Denis La Riotte Domaine Taupenot Merme. A Premier Cru vineyard located right below the MSD village, a 3 mins walk from Domaine Taupenot Merme. This 2002 La Riotte is forward and playful. At a beautiful maturity, just stepped into drinking window, sappy with charming fragrant. Spicy Morey body with a refined feel. Great quality for the price, definitely gives Domaine Hubert Lignier Morey St Denis La Riotte a run for the money. Hubert Lignier remains the best in La Riot

Fine tannins, but of crunch. Plenty of red fruit, cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry. Spice on the finish, touch of vanilla oak. Enjoyable at 18deg.

Ruby. Dark cherry and mushroom on the nose. Cherry and cranberry with tobacco. Sweet tannins but still fresh and long. Drinking beautifully.

Piercing red wine. The acids are so strong with great fruits that come up. Great long long finish. Very good. Held itself well after 14 years. The tannins are so strong still. Very lovely

Dark colouring for age. Released late from Chateau Showing slight age on nose, some red fruits coming through. Some expression. Getting on the softer side, still some tcp medicinal notes, some leather. Quite high frequency. Needs further time to improve Enjoyable

Fantastic dinner with Rolf Chow, Dave Chan, Jon, Anna, Henry, TK and Kevin. Henry brought for blind tasting. Decanted for a while, and it's tasted side by side with 08(blinded also). I guessed it's a CM because of the firmness in the mid-palate. Bright violet colour. A forward and fruit dominant wine in which crushed berries, jammy fig, cigar, cumin...are tasted. Very nice to drink now.

A bit of brett on the nose leading to berries and leather. Nice texture with pleasant tart berry flavours. Scant TNs as I burnt out after so many Burgundies in a row. On to the Rhône! (NB TNs from a tasting in 2016)

Cote d'Or 2002 and still very fresh, light ruby colour. Sour cherries dominate, hint of vanilla. Medium body, high acidity, soft tannins. Very good.

Um pinot mais sério e complexo, com floral, frutas vermelhas, especiarias doces e notas animais. Elegante e equilibrado, com boa estrutura tânica e acidez. Bom Borgonha.

Cherries liqueur, very Morey style, with earth, violets, a lot of power and great acidity on the palate. That's a young bastard! Will be great in few years.
