This was great dessert wine. Difficult to think that dessert wine could be better. 30 years have treated this Gewurztraminer wine very well. Colour was deep yellow, strong typical Gewurztraminer nose. In taste was perfect harmony between acidity and sweetness. Gewurztraminer spicies are getting more round during the years, so taste in not do typical Gewurztraminer one. Long pleasant aftertaste.

(4.8) Hier heb ik maar één woord voor: wow. Net alsof je nectar aan het drinken bent. Bloesemhoning, lychee, abrikozen. Volle rijpheid die te danken is aan de botrytis, maar ook nog een hele mooie frisheid met citrusvruchten als Valenciaanse sinaasappels, grapefruit bitter en een mooie mineraliteit. De afdronk is intens en heel lang! Dit is een echte aanrader! Eet dit in combinatie met foie gras en abrikozen compote! Of een mooie heftige blauwschimmelkaas.

Orange color. Ginger, leather, lychee, rose water on nose. Palate is rich. honey, apricot, rose, orange blossom, some kind of tropical fruit. Leather shows up on the finish along with pineapple. Great acidity balances out the sweetness.

Very nice, acidity and sweetness incredibly balance with a variety of scent, really good, this is a must have in the alsace sweet wine panorama!

Medium gold colour. On the nose lemons, caramel, nougat, oak and minerals. On the palate full bodied, sweet with citrus fruit notes and s long apples spice finish.

Love. Not too sweet & a smooth dessert wine. Nose explodes with lemon and floral jasmine notes. Very elegant with complex finish of nuts, biscuit, and apricot.

Deep golden with a touch of red, sweet but not clawing, great streak of acidty. Initially a little dusty but clears up to reveal an awesome wine, notes of pear honey ginger caramel tropical wax clove dried apricot chamomile brown sugar nutty. A great treat 👌

4.7 94p. This Gewürztraminer SGN is part of Trimbach’s top range - the prestige wines. Golden with a green hue. Nutmeg, honey and yellow pear on the nose. Although this is a GW, there’s no traces of perfume, rose leves or other similar notes. Elegant and delicious. Good acidity, and not as sweet as expected. Quite well drinking - quite a surprise for such a rich wine. On the downside, the style is slightly polished. An edge or two would have been nice. Good ageing potential. Really nice GW

Outstanding late harvest Gewürztraminer white wine from the Alsace region in the north east side of France. Wine with a medium acidity combined with an intense sweetness in the aftertaste. Golden yellow of color. Flavors of pineapple, lychee and apricot.

What a joy to experience this! Super mature but not tired yet, has a lot going on and is very complex. It would deserve a much longer tasting. Complex mix of both fresh and candies stone fruit, apricot. Honey, beeswax, even some leather notes in background. Palate is velvety smooth, broad and balanced with medium+ acidity. Finish is very long.

Trimbach Maison tasting in Alsace… Great complex character, and everything expected of a Gewürztraminer, but pleasantly restrained on the residual sweetness that means this will pair well with sweet desserts where you want some acidity to cut through the dessert experience. Excellent!

Like it very much. VT is a high level of Alsace wine, only Riesling, Gwurz, Muscatelle and Pinot Grus can make this. This wine has stewed pear, apple, apricot, peach, melon, and vanilla, coconut, honey, and walnut flavor. A little ginger, but not obvious. It’s sweet, but yet high acidity, so great balanced. Again, the age and the very smooth velvet nose created sky high expectations. This wine has splendid amber color, has some sediment. The texture felt smooth and velvety, but there has been some very unpleasant bitterness, taking almost all of the attention from the candied fruits and apricot notes.

The white wines from this wine merchant are always very good. Of course, the late harvest wines are the pinnacle of Alsatian wines. They have a fantastically long finish and a wonderful bouquet of floral and fruity flavors. Of course, you can't drink this wine on its own, but as an option to end the evening with it as a dessert, it's practically perfect. I especially love wine made from Gewürtztraminer berries. This grape variety has a particularly vibrant and deep flavor.

Treated this as a sweet treat to cap an evening of tasting whites although it was a little sweeter than expected! 🍬 The ‘Vendanges Tardives’ really showed itself with raisin flavours being hinted at, on a canvas of weighty and syrupy but velvety texture. an half btl of SGN Gewurztraminer that only produces in best vintages 13.5% AbV P&P; brightly golden hue; deeply honeyed lychee + zesty lemon peel & ginger skin underneath lusciously sweet yet pretty mellow, good acid. to balance but lacking complexity to be great can keep but not sure any further improvement

Dessert wine. One of the very few I’ve tried. Interesting and enjoyable as an after meal glass. Beautiful golden appearance. Rich and filled with honey flavours. There is a nectar fullness to this. But it’s a little too sweet for my liking.

マーマレードまでいかない感じのオレンジ。 酸味低い。 喉越しに、軽いグリーン系の印象。

美味しくないという訳ではなく、デザートワインと知らず。確かエノテカの福袋で、何か知らずに何年か放置していたもの。
