Honey walnut dry fruit
Olor a madera espectacular. Rico rico
Precioso color oro viejo. Nariz a manzanas asadas, lías y acetaldehído. Final salado y punzante. Muy largo e intenso.

A 6 years aged fino that is surprisingly complex. Not as acidic as other finos, and a slight sweetness not found in other finos that I know. Interesting to compare it in blind tasting with the 6 years older fino from the same Osborn brand called La Honda. We actually couldn’t settle which is better since they are just too different. Pairing with Cantabrian Anchovies in olive oil opens new taste dimensions.
Nose of salt, iodene, marine, algae, kelp, salted lemon, salted apple, herbal, spices, dried fruit, saline dried fruit, dried apple, salted apple, salted lemon, herbal, marine, spices, oak, saline, salt, minerals Med+ body, med+ acidity, med+ to long finish
4.1. Sal, ostras, minerais. Corpo medio leve, intenso, leve acidez, persistente.
16,5/20 - aroma frutado e a barrica intenso, seco, pouca acidez.
Amande, noix fraîche, pomme verte, pointe saline…
Smooth and dry. A classic.
Vintage: 2017, bottled 24.10.2024. Abv. 17%. Carb. 0.1g Has more alcohol than a typical Palomino Fino Jerez: 17 vs 15. Though less crisp amd accidic and smoother than usual Jerez of this type, and this alcohol is hard to detect. Tastes a bit sweeter than an average one, though still completely dry. I would designate it as a dry Jerez for the winter time. Aroma: honey, field flowers, dry grass. Palate: camomile, a bit of almond. (So - quite typical from the just descriptors side).
Degustato a El Puerto Santa Maria (Marzo 2025). (Alcol 17%) 3.8
Children of the Ocean degustation. Representative of outdated style with double fortification leading to 17% alcohol. Coquinero is the nickname of El Puerto de Santa Maria inhabitants meaning cockle-picker. 100% Palomino Fino from Pago Balbaína in El Puerto de Santa Maria (Cadiz, Andalucía) aged under the flor in American oak barrels for 84 months (technically it’s Fino-Amontillado). Unfiltered. Bronze gold colour. Aroma of cortado coffee, lemon peel, tangerine, honey mushrooms, chestnut, hazeln
A bit basic and entry level sherry. To be honest, I'm not sure I appreciated it any more than £10 Sherry in the UK. Although the bottle is fancier. All the usual elements: flor, almond. Hazelnut aftertaste. Not so fruity. Maybe some honey on days 5-6.
Yeast, salt, walnuts, dry as hell, sweet and savoury twists and turns. Great fun with sweet jamon, but i’m not sure how pleasurable it would be on its own.
BCN tasting oak leather licorice lemon
CanalTravino y Sumilleres de Zamora Cata de Vinos del Sur
6 months since bottled and already quite oxidized. Very dusty yeast, acetaldehyde and saline minerality on the nose. Quite bitter. Not my favourite.
Vinho seco. Nunca tinha provado. Ficou melhor. Este vinho vai ficar para aperitivo 👀 Cor (0-5): 5 âmbar 👃 Aroma (0-5): 4 👅 Sabor (0-5): 3 💨Suavidade (0-5): 3 💰 Relação preço/qualidade (0-5): 4 🥂 Quero voltar a beber (0-3): 2 📈 Nota final (0-20): 14
