Any chocolate dishes beware it adds cherry flavoring. Great sweet and smooth flavors. It can hit the back of the throat and have a slight bitter taste but just like hot chocolate warms your soul.
Deep mahogany with a green rim. High intensity aroma of fig, chocolate, coffee. Lusciously sweet, medium plus acidity, full body and long finish. Palate confirms the nose. Outstanding quality. An incredible wine 93 years young.
1968. Excellent vintage. Very well balanced and pleasant sweetness with moderate acidity. On the nose: raisins, fig, a bit alcohol. Taste is developing and really really long finish. Taste of really mature banana, coffee, almonds, raisins, fig, dried appricot. Delicious.
1990 vintage. Caramel, toffee, molasses, fig, raisin, and prune. With a little salt to balance. Excellent.

A very old wine (for me) with a surreal, funky nose. Somehow both fresh and throwing off "antique shop" at the same time. Maybe it's Grandpa's garage? Molasses and spices, very sweet yet with great mouth watering acidity and an amazing smoothness that gives way to a shocking unctuousness. The finish goes and goes and goes and goes. Wow. A lot to process here.
Celebrating life service for my stepfather born in 1949 who recently passed away. Aromas of molasses, caramel, raisins and chocolate. Similar flavors along with dried fruit, orange zest, toffee and toasted nuts.
A touch of amontillado has been added to this PX to keep it going. Tonnes of burnt caramel. Deep and complex with a good amount of sweetness.

Best sherry I've ever had
For my birthday I wanted to get something that's from the year of my birth, 1965. Granted, this was bottled in 2014, but it was kept in the original barrels up until then. It's a Pedro Ximenez, in other words, basically a sherry, made by Toro Albalá, one of the most renowned producers of XP sherry. All reviews are correct. We have plum, fig, raisins, chocolate, balsamic glaze, caramelized walnuts, dates with a touch of black pepper & curcumin. Sweet, but not as sweet as most sherries, with bitte
My first PX did not disappoint! Deep brown with notes of molasses, soy sauce, medjool date, golden raisin, Chinese salted plum, walnut, ginger bread, dusty turmeric curry, and camphor. Excellent balance with enough acid to elevate the sugar and preserve the fruit. A perfectly silky texture that isn’t too heavy on the palate with a super long, clean, and smooth finish. Superb.
Dessert wine at our blind bottle tasting. Incredible PX at nearly my age . Caramel, chocolate,nutmeg, raisins, strong tobacco and hazelbuts on nose and palate. Layered powerfull texture. PX at its best.

Unbelievable level of acidity such elder wine. 100% Pedro Ximenez from Aguilar de la Frontera (Cordoba, Andalucía) made according with asoleo method - matured for 12 months in stainless steel and for 48 years (!) in American oak butts. One of the most divine sticky wines you’ll ever try. Thick and luscious. Rich and brown in colour, so viscous it sticks to the glass. Raisins galore, molasses and fruit cake. Simply amazing.

Wow - dark chocolate in a glass. Extremely rich with raisin, fig, prune that combine extremely well with the chocolate, coffee and caramel. Very smooth and warming with an aftertaste that stays with you for a long time. Loved this sticky wine

Very unique, perfect pairing with to deserts that need a desert wine with rich raisin, spice and molasses. Tasting wine from 1968 in 2025 may not be a good experience, but this wine didn’t disappoint. If you get a chance to try it with next 2-5 yrs it may still be a very good experience, but I would expect it to move towards pure syrup past 2030. 95pts

PX secado al sol para hacer pasa, prensado, 1 año en inox, se forticica a 17° y se pone en botas en crianza oxidativa durante ?? años (aquí ya no escuchaba nada 😅) Negro alquitrán Brutal !!!! Notas cítricas en nariz y en boca notas al azúcar quemado de la crema catalana, tocino de cielo, ... Larguísimo en boca.... Otra maravilla

Урожай этого года был собран с дофилоксерных лоз, которые давали урожай в течение 144 лет и которых уже, к сожалению, не существует. Данный ПХ делают без флора и его крепят с добавлением спиртов. Сахар 392 г/л, 17% алк, выдержка в дубовых бочках ~46 лет. RP 98 баллов. Очень гармоничный, обволакивающий и сложный напиток. Много не выпьешь, но чертовски приятно. Аромат мощный, насыщенный, слива, чернослив, ⏬⏬⏬

Ebano con ribete yodado. Intensidad media alta: regaliz, higos pasas, dátiles, tabaco, cola, salsa de soja, ...En boca fresco, ligero, de cuerpo medio, sabroso, goloso, siruposo, con notas de regaliz, especiado, farmacopea y un punto salino. Final dulce-amargo persistente y taninos suaves. Gran vino dulce de PX.

Backlog. This tasty PX was shared by @[1|19054133|Ursus Teddicus]. Although in a category of it's own, this was in a 3-way tie for my WOTN. Nose is rich with caramel, coffee, aged fruit. It's luschiously sweet (380 g/L)...to put this in perspective, pure water is 1000g/L, so it's approx. 38% sugar. Full body, no tannins to speak of. Flavours of toffee, espresso, figs, raisins, burnt brown sugar, molasses, dried fruit cake with rum. So delectable. Small sips only. 4.6 🏍😎 #Iberuly.

Wow! As my good friend @[1|29585529|M7] likes to say “Christmas in a bottle” 🎄. This incredible dessert wine was share by @[1|19054133|Ursus Teddicus] during our recent Vivino GTA meet up. Caramel, espresso notes. High viscosity, cane sugar, lactic notes, fig, raisin, rum cake. Loooooooong sweet finish. Perfect way to end a magical evening.

Had this at a wine bar called Divino in Calgary. The bartender was the best. And took out this 1949 Spanish vintage. Sweet! It’s heavenly. Soft, gently sweet, historic...every sip tells a new story. While it needs to breathe a bit, once it does, some dried fruit, like raisin, and even some molasses, begin to form around the taste buds of your palate. It’s not a super long finish, so you have to enjoy it while it lasts. I guess that can be said about a 1949 vintage as well!
Finally! We get to step out and gather with this awesome group of friends. Thanks @[1|19054133|Ursus Teddicus] for this wonderful PX. Wine 16 of 17. Nose of vanilla, raisin, Jamaican dark rum, sugar cane, charcoal, herbal and honey. Palate has that honey, wildflower, molasses and smoke 4.4⭐️ Thanks for aging this for us since you were a baby minus 5-10 years! 😊

The fantastic, elegant 1949 Albala is a sweet dessert among the best. It presents rich, unctuous layers of cinnamon, mineral, lemon, cocoa, olive and butter. The stellar complexity, mouthfeel, smoothness and balance all add to its incredible CV. Finish is sooooo long. Ages forever. Unlike a fine Sauternes, it does not develop peach and apricot notes. Outstanding nectar.

Chocolate, black chocolate, salted plums, figs and orange peel. Reminds me of a concentrated orange expresso tonic! Beautiful nose, very soft. On the palate, its coffee, creme brule, fig, but most interesting it taste like wet soil. On the finish a sense of sandal wood.

オフィスの新年会… デザートに合わせて甘口シェリーを♪ 驚くほど… 真っ黒‼︎ ちょっぴり頂くのに抵抗が(笑) クンクンしてみると… 良い香り~ レーズンを主体にオレンジピールやミント、フローラルも。頂いてみると… チョコっぽくて濃ゆい~ 酸味やスパイスも感じられます。思わずアイスを追加してオンしちゃいました(>_<)

Di aspetto molto gradevole, al naso affiorano a mano a mano note complesse di frutta gialla passita, fichi secchi, leggerissima speziatura. Al palato la dolcezza infinita è, in parte, combattuta da una acidità che rinfresca il palato ricco di frutti e tostature da caffè, cioccolato e foglie di tabacco. Opulento.
Vino liquoroso dotato di un bouquet olfattivo ricco di note complesse tra cui spiccano sentori di frutta appassita, miele , fichi secchi e profumi più decisi di uva passa. Al palato risulta avvolgente e concentrato, con un finale untuoso ma mai stucchevole. Ideale da servire fresco in abbinamento con i formaggi erborinati, la pasticceria secca e tutti i dolci a base di cioccolato.

Rivaling my 1961 Barolo for age , this was a 1968 PX Sherry, not my usual jam but really cool to try just the same. This had notes of burnt caramel, dried raisin, espresso and fruit cake. With this 1968 vintage, we're getting there! It's so think and intense, you can only have a sip of it. Yet amazing! Have it with some ice-cream to accompany with. Yummy!
Deep brown colour with incredibly long legs. Intense nose of dried fig, black raisin, molasses, and charcoal. Very sweet palate reflective of the nose with additional notes of toffee, walnut oil, and a hint of menthol with medium high acidity. Very full bodied with unctuous viscosity. Very long finish with a touch of balsamic and coffee. Higher price ($293 CAD) yet very good value. At Vivino GTA meeting.
1949 bottled in 2011. Dark brown in colour with bric at the edge. Sweet cherry chocolate and caramel notes. The taste is thick sticky toffee, Indian spices and burnt nutty chocolate. More than enough acidity to balance the extreme sweetness and sugar.

極甘口シェリー。 干しぶどうを濃縮させた感じ。 黒糖も感じられる。 ただ甘ったるいという訳ではなくキレがあり飲みやすい。
Not really my wine, a bit too sweet, tasted like sultanas… maybe Pedro ximinez is not my thing as this is quite highly rated by others…
Incredible. Warm welcoming nose. In mouth the softness is well balance with the expression of the grapes and the tension of the grapes. Amazing!

Hatte den Bre zu meinem letzten Gang, also dem Dessert. Ist halt super kräftig, klar, kommt ja auch aus 1990. Alleine sehr intensiv mit Lakritz. Mit dem Dessert zusammen eine gute Kombination und wird den 4,4 schon gerecht. Alleine aber echt nicht so gut 🤧
