Toro Albalá Marqués de Poley Oloroso

I find Jerez/Montillas in all of their forms very hard to describe, but... 🍷Between dark golden and light brown 👃Very complex, with yeast (flor) hints, as well as old wet wood, almonds, raisins, caramel , etc... 👅Full bodied, dense, with looooong finishes. Great overall! This bottle was not bought at the winery (visited sep2019). Matches well all sort of weird, strong food combinations, such as anchovies with tapenade or mussels and bacon pasta. And run over everything else.

From my late summer backlog. Another one of those memorable moments, a dessert in itself. The taste developed and changed all the time, giving me different flavors; figs, apricots, honey, sweet caramel, nuts, chocolate and other treats.

Color ámbar oscuro con ligero poso natural de larga conservación. Aroma intenso, ebanistería, avellanas, fondo de romero. Buen cuerpo, acidez equilibrada que proporciona frescor y ligereza, continuo, posgusto muy largo.

Reunión en Fenavin con PX. Un oloroso espectacular. Maestros en producción del PX.

First time trying an Oloroso. Dry/acid start woody taste with a fresh and oaky end

On the lighter side for an oloroso - butterscotch color. brightly acidic, clean. A bit different to have a dry wine based on PX!

Rich and elegant dry Oloroso averaging over ten years of aging. Attractive amber and dark yellow tones. Powerful, expressive, round, velvety texture with a long finish full of pecan, walnuts and hazelnuts. Non-fortified. Great pairing with deconstructed “huevos rotos” by chef Dreyer at Ciré Cumbayá.

3.9/5 Sample from Siris Pop Up Bar. Pours a dark gold. Relatively light scent. Minor oxidative notes but overall very closed. Taste is dry, fairly full, astrigent. Intense oxidative notes, very intensely nutty ( walnut peel). Not the most intense wine, especially from this house, but nevertheless I enjoy it.

I love Oloroso sherry. Fortified to a higher alcohol level than manzanilla Sherry, so that the flor yeast can’t develop, it subsequently undergoes lots of oxidation. 👁 Medium Amber / Pale Brown 👃🏻 intensely sweet, with flavours of sweet toffee, sweet caramel, leather, walnut and mushroom. 👅 staggeringly, given the intense sweetness of the nose, this wine is in fact bone dry, with a high prickly acid, high alcohol and intense, long finish…

Excelente Oloroso, nariz intenso, com madeira velha, húmida, salitre, uva em passa e frutos secos. Na boca salino, intenso, sequissimo, acidez lá em cima. Uma maravilha.

Toro Albala really know how to make their wines! Quite delicate for Oloroso, but still satisfying.

De color ambarino algo oscuro con destellos oro viejo de buena lágrima, limpio y brillantes. En nariz con complejidad, aromas de frutos secos, avellanas y nueces, finos tostados, ebanistería, ahumados, caramelo tostado, fondo de especias y de barniz. En boca es seco, untuoso, profundo y potente, con equilibrio, buena acidez, frutos secos, finos tostados, balsámicos y mineral, el final es largo y muy buena intensidad.

Very pleasent Oloroso with aromas of nuts, rasins, hay.

Giallo ambrato consistente intenso e complesso, prevalgono note tostate di cioccolato, caramello, frutta secca( fichi noci) limone maturo. La beva e intensa con ancora una bella freschezza che ne sbilancia l’equilibrio

3#7 Cata de Pedro Ximenez de la bodega Toro Albalá Seco. Oloroso de PX con sistema de crianzas y soleras de 15 años. crianza oxidativa (sin velo de flor). Encabezado con alcohol. Más pesado y denso que el anterior, color cahoba con notas a nuezes, tostados. más glicérico.

W aromacie miód pitny i wyraźna słodycz. W smaku wręcz przeciwnie - niska słodycz, wyraźna kwasowość, słonawy smak. Jest alkoholowe, ale nie przesadnie. Średnia budowa. Bardzo długi finisz - mocno wyczuwalne orzechy i trochę jakby materiały dentystyczne…
