So good! It’s fresh, fruity, easy to drink, delicious
Loved this wine. Light body but full of character. Nice fruit but with almost a smoky undertone. Will definitely buy it again.
A surprisingly good Bikavér, for a good price. On the lighter side, it’s a bit higher in acidity with medium tannins. Sour cherry aromas, with blueberry and some vanilla. Easy to drink, too easy!
Really nice, elegant wine with red fruit taste, especially cherry and sour cherry.

Black currant nose, perhaps some red currant. More red fruit and maybe cherry taste with a bit of spice.
Good hungurian wine!!!!
Region : Szekszard Grape Variety: Kékfrankos, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Kadarka ABV: 13.5% Stopper: Cork Full bodied red wine. Intense ruby red with purple reflections in colour, on the nose, aromas of plum and blueberry with notes of spices. Medium tannins. Well-balanced in acidity. Savory and classic red wine in style. On the palate, dry, oaky, structured, silky, complex, filled with ripe, smooth, layered, fruit-driven, hint of tobacco, touch of forest floor, delivers red fruits character.I
One of the best Bikaver blend I have found 😊😘🍷 small artisanal producer - great balance and pleasure - nice wine
Sweet edge and spices, heat. Pepper on the nose with dark fruit. Marion berry fruit flavor.. Dark purple color almost opaque. Citrus. Very complex.
Sour cherries are very present in this great bikaver! From a producer south of Budapest in szekszard hints of green coffee I find it better than many versions of the typical from Eger
Great value for money. Bull’s Blood (Bikaver) is always a quality blend. This gem is a full bodied red with subtle notes of red cherry. The wine really looks like blood and is absolutely delicious.
Clean medium deep ruby-garnet color. Medium intense raspberry, ripe strawberry aroma. Spicey flavor. Paprika, ripe red berries. Low-medium tannins. Low acidity. Long finish. Good-excellent.
Color: medium ruby Nose: dried red fruits, currant, herbs Palate: high acid, m+ tannins and body, m alc (13%), red and black currants, dried herbs, bell pepper, full on palate, long finish
Translucent ruby in color, on the nose red fruit and wood. Tastes of sour, tart cherry, cranberry and spice. A hint of bitterness on the mid palate. A blend of 50% Kerfrankos (Blaufrankish), 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, and 8% Kadarka aged 22 months in 3rd and 5th used 5Hl Hungarian oak barrels along with a portion aged in 14 year old 600L casks. Supple tannins, medium in body and finish.
Classic bikavér richness and medium tannins. It's a great wine to share or just keep on hand for spontaneous occasions.
In Summe sehr angenehmer cuvee.
Medium bodied bronze coloured good stuff
Amazing provance style drinkable light rose from Szekszard.
Transclucent orange red in the glass. Very light and acidic on the nose with whiff of sour cherries and some vanilla. Good complexity on palate with some vanilla, oak, iron l, smoke and cedar wood.
Light depth, can read through it. Cherry and cranberry predominate. Spice but just a hint of pencil lead .. a contrast on such a red fruit dominant wine. Very interesting indeed.
Enjoyed more than expected. Smoky red fruits, cranberry, smoky bacon fat, hot asphalt, sarsaparilla, liquorice root. Light and mineral. Punching well above its price point (£10.50!!). Drank alongside a couple of £25-30 bottles but this was hands down the victor.
Soft, cool, slightly bloody. Cherries and currants.
An intriguing take on Bikaver, this unusual blend is savoury witn flavours of dried cranberries, cherries, coffee and spices, brick red in colour and best served lightly chilled. Bikavér (aka 'bulls blood '), typically comes from the Eger region, though this hails from another of Hungary's finest red-producing regions, Szekszárd.
I wasn’t expecting much, so pleasantly surprised. The colour is light & quite rusty. Immediately got a scent of Turkish delights - then the cherry and raspberry. The palette is slightly different than the nose - sour cherry and tart but with a short finish. Overall I’ve been blown away by the Hungarian wines we’ve had this year, and this certainly adds to that.
Grew over a day or so of breathing.
Still great. Even better the next day.
cherry plum vanilla blackcurrant cranberry oak pepper cedar Lovely!
cherry plum oak blackcurrant tobacco pepper
Black currant sour
When we were at the winery we didn’t trythis wine, but figured it would be okay to have for the goulash. Now I’m about sad that we didn’t buy more, because it’s a very elegant and complete bikaver. Powerful but nowhere harsh or too tannic. Really nice bikaver this.
Fruity and acidic. Nice and zippy, and balanced nicely by a pleasant amount of oak.
A pleasant Blaufränkish-dominated Bikavér from Szekszárd cherry plum vanilla oak
Stroef op de tong mooi bittertje. Mooi bittertje. Zure kers. Robijn qua kleur
My first sip of Hungarian red wine. A nice blend using Kékfranko and Kardarka grapes. This is a lighter style of Bikavér with a savoury edge of red cherry and cranberry. Notes of coffee and spice derived from 22 months spent in oak barrels.
Lekerekedett, kicsit egysíkú. 2019.
Tasty, light, easy to drink wine, but a little too acidic and this makes it unbalanced.
Brick red colour...more savoury than fruity. Has a touch of sourness to it from cranberry and red cherry. Better chilled than at room temperature. Medium body with light tannins but would go with some chunky food. Had with some butchers sausage from the BBQ...nice balance!
Destination Hungarian Wine Dinner by our fav chefs @[1|46182643|Emily Post] & @[1|42996567|Anna Karrer] w/ our favorite somm, Charlie from Good Life Provisions attended with @Natalie The Normandy 3/9/2021. Family winery 4 generations, w/current at helm 2 decades & considered best of area. Bikaver known as Bull's Blood. Blend of Kekfrankos, Merlot, Kadarka, Cab Sauv & Sagrentino. Drinks harmoniously like a red Burgundy 100% Pinot Noir. Paired with Anna's fav Hungarian dish, Hortobagyi Palacsinta.
Beautiful light ruby colour. Medium long legs. Black currant and vanilla in the nose with some sour cherry. Easy sip, very round aftertaste. Cherry in the mouth with vanilla, raspbery and black currant.
Medium ruby in colour with a clear rim. Medium+ intensity of primary aromas on the nose of cherry. Dry with medium tanning and medium- acidity and a medium- body. Medium intensity of primary flavour on the palate of cherry with a medium finish.
Red fruit, fizz on the tongue. Lighter style, and went superbly with a burger and fries. A great crowd pleaser, proving that there is more to the "old world" than the more established regime. Can't recall the price but not expensive. Budapest 2019
Cranberries, sour cherries, bark, earth, dry leaves, herbs. Decent but not extraordinary "Bull's Blood".
Light colour. Definite cherry. Smooth. Liked it
1 Mind blowing 1.5 Undrinkable 2 Would not drink again 2.5 Wine 3 Good wine 3.5 Would buy again 4 Would recommend 4.5 Almost perfect 5 Mind blowing
3.7. Hard and angked. Good Bikaver. Nice with Hungarian guliash soup. Oak, tobacco, blackberries. Warmth in the chest means everything is wonderful.😊😊😊
Degustação em Budapeste. No nariz complexo com fruta preta, vermelha, bem integrada com a madeira couro e pimenta. Em boca, Média acidez e persistência, taninos equilibrados e bom retrogosto. Nota 3.7.

3,3/5 | 85/100 | I tasted: 07.2021.
Medium deep, ruby colour. Moderately intense nose, aromas of sour cherry, plum and fine spiciness in the back. Moderate alcohol and fine tannins supported by great acidity.
3.6 Not bad, but wouldn’t buy it again. Standard Kékfrankos-dominated Bikavér with blackberry, sour cherry and some oak in the background (but it’s mainly reductive with vivid acidity).
A pleasant, lighter Bikavér from the Sebestyén Cellar. A harmoniously blended cuvée based on Kékfrankos. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Kadarka are the other three varieties. I opted for a short decant. The wine opens with pleasant fruity aromas: blackberries, blueberries, vanilla with a hint of wood. Spicy, lighter sip. Full-bodied palate. On the palate, cherries and tart cherries are complemented by blackberries and notes of barrel aging. Medium finish. I liked it!
Yet another very interesting red blend from Hungary, this time from Szekszárd. Into Szekszárdi Bikaver (Bull's blood) they blended Kékfrankos 36%, Kadarka 11%, Merlot 26%, Cabernet 24% and Sagrantino 3% into very unusual but delicious wine.
A decent, Kékfrankos driven Bikavér wiht rich nose and palate of cherry fruitness, cognac, forest floor, dark spices and oak. Finely balanced, rich taste without any sharp edges. While ligther than some of the competition, there is is complexity behind the fruity surfice, especially if you appreciates bittery acidity and robust tannins.
A flatness on the end like a duck’s bill. I like it but Miye was particularly impressed: “bloody and savory.” It’s not a rich flavor though, soft and easy. Maybe a subtle vegetal quality. Certainly drinkable without offensive edges.
Full body, medium intensity, medium tannins, black fruits and spices taste, not complex but pleasant wine. Good quality!
Nice aromas (vanilla), thin body, cherry notes.
surprisingly nice wine, dark fruits, great balance, pleasant on the palate.
Fun flavors. Lighter mouth feel than I thought it would be. Sorta tart.
Simple and pleasant blend. Not particularly fruit forward. Soft tannins.
Plum and blueberry. Middle palate earthy and a fig finish. Very interesting. Wholesale $13.50
Flat, dull, disappointing. I was expecting a Bikaver to taste like the typical Egri Bikaver (Szekszard is far to the south of Eger). This has none of the full body typical of the Egri wines.
2018 vintage. Cheese on the nose. Garnet colored. Peppery with cinnamon and dry. Light bodied with mild tannins. A spicy lingering finish. Common Thread, Savannah.
Can definitely taste the oaking. Quite an unusual grape taste (from my v limited experience). Not bad but not my favourite.
03/09/2021 destination dinner Hungary the Normandy! Awesome wine a bit Smokey drink like a Pinot. Awesome dinner we did with Anna
Easy light acidic cuvée. Great smell with oak, blackberry, clove, vanilla. Acids are mid but fine, light tannin, weak body and endings, unfortunately no taste. Thanks God!
When in Hungary... at Doplo wine bar on the street Dob Utca. 4 wines into a flight of 5, a bikavér, bull's blood, is served. Ruby red like a barbera with a wholesome nose of fresh red cherries, autumn plums, light vanilla and cedar wood tones. Medium bodied, well balanced but short on the aftertaste. A nice wine all together
👀 Light, translucent cherry red. 👃 Med-intensity, damp woody note to start, wet moss, green herbs, a little barnyard even, w/ underlying red fruit aromas of cherry, redcurrant & plum. 👅 Light in body, almost no tannic element but lots of juicy acidity. That sweet red fruit really comes across on the palate, not deep or complex but very moreish. Short to finish. 👍 A light refreshing red, simple but pleasant. Hard to know what to expect from such an unusual blend but a solid midweek wine at a
