Maggio Family Vineyards Zinfandel

I’m hooked on Old Vine Zins and this one hits all the boxes: chocolate and fruit notes. Very smooth. I’m ordering a dozen bottles for the holidays and winter months.

Absolutely delicious! Incredibly easy to drink and goes so well with many things.

Dark ruby in the glass. Toasted sugar, vanilla,and oak on the nose. Dark berries, cherries, and baking spices. Mild stewed tomatoes. A bold zin and well balanced. What a value, too!

Amazing Zinfandel! Maggio: Meaning: Derived from May, symbolizing spring and renewal. It also means 'you can' in Italian. Beautiful name! Deep ruby colour! Blackberry, prune jam, coconut. Velvet tannins and smooth acidity.

ダークチェリー、プルーン、オーク、バニラ、チョコレート 色はルビーレッド。 わかりやすいカリフォルニアジンファンデル。果実味はあるが濃厚と言うよりはミディアム寄り。酸味と苦味もしっかりと感じた。思ったよりも重くなかった。また樽香も強くかなり香りに寄せたバランス、香り自体はとても好み。 二日目以降になると酸味苦味共に穏やかになっていく。おいしい！

ジンファンデルを最初に植えたエリアらしく、樹齢100年超えの樹もジンファンデルだとあるらしい。 単一品種かと思いきや80%程度（この造り手はどの銘柄もほぼその構成比の模様）。 味わいに厚みがあり、凝縮感がある。チェリー、チョコレート、オーク。 開けて数日経つと香りが飛び、チェリー・チョコレートの甘さだけが残ってくどいので、開けたてが美味しい。 信濃屋にて。

Full body but still easy drinking - what’s not to like?! It’s got a really lovely depth of flavour and smoky fruit, a great wine and bargain, lingers nicely. It’s become my go-to red from the local wine shop and already feels like a trusted companion... definitely deserving of 4*

Buttery, oaky, tobacco, jammy, sweet with soft tannins. Delicious if a little simple 3.9

Light to medium bodied, plums, raisins, clove, and a bit earthy. Nice light acidity. Medium finish.

가격대비 훌륭한 퍼포먼스, 알코올 느낌이 거의 안나지만 단맛이 강하게 나서 내취향이진 않았다. 점도가 높고 잼같은 향이 난다

I had strong minerality at the end and strong black cherry on the nose and first sip. Its an easy drinking wine and also great with red meat.

Gaucho for desert

Extra 1/2 star for value. Picked this up today while basket shopping. Good fruit with blueberry, cherry and a nice oak infusion.

Such great value/quality every time. I adore this wine. Rich brambles and meadow fruits with sticky raspberry and chocolate. Maggio May produce a lot of wine, but they do it very well.

Bloody good Petite Sirah from Lodi in Cali. Didn't buy it in Cali, bought it in Whistler. It's an earthy beast, with a lot of body. The Zinfandel comes through with strength that you don't see in many wines. Smooth cherry, white pepper, a lot of earth and a tonne of oak. Great wine!

Next up from P&O Oceana (sorry, But I had an excuse - I was taking over their Instagram so no time to Vivino- go check it out!!) another old vine Zin: perfect, juicy, fruity, peppery roundness. Just gimme all the zins, all the time please.

A pleasing Lodi Zin, at a pleasing £30 price point at a steak restaurant was hard to resist. Mouth-filling plushness. Ripe, polished and silky. Blueberry, raspberry with clear American oak indicators. No nuance or layers, but very competent. High typicity, great pairing.

Ripe black fruit flavours with subtle notes of jam and chocolate with a hint of smoke on the finish.

Rich fruity nose that hits the palate as you’d expect. Smooth cherry flavours. One of the nicest pub wines I’ve had for a while.

Youthful at 5 years, dark berry’s, spice, earth, good QPR !!!! Enjoyed with beef stir fry, avocado and Rougette Bavarian Red Cheese….. Cheers 🥂🥂🥂🥂

無難に美味しかった しっかりした味わい

Very happy with this choice of wine-by-the-glass with my steak. More depth and body than some Zinfandel, which was perfect with my food choice. Smooth with dark fruit flavours

This 2017 Zinfandel is very complex, with strong notes of pepper and spices.

楽天エラベル閉店セール。 ザ、カジュアルジンファンデル。分かりやすい味わい。 中程度のガーネット色。 鉄、グラファイト、ダークチェリーにプラム。 甘み、旨味のハッキリした果実味でミディアム寄り。ほんのりシナモン系スパイスがアクセント。 深みや複雑さはあまりないが、いかにもカリフォルニアのカジュアルという味わい。

Rich plum nose. Body is plum, oak and a little bit of vanilla. Not very peppery. It’s alright but no length or complexity really. Red wine for knocking back.

Lighter than most Zins. Almost like a pinot with the dark berry flavor.

Pleasantly surprised. Vanilla, butterscotch, very velvety.

2300 チェリーの香り 甘いタンニン柔らか

This is an okay zin. The wine has a purple color. It smells of strawberry (big time), raspberry, plum, oak, smoke, black cherry, and a hint of black pepper The wine tastes of cherry syrup, vanilla, ripe strawberry, oak, plum, smoke, and a hint of blueberry jam. Pair it with lamb tikka marsala lamb burger to bring out the cherries and with basmati rice and paprika sweet potatoes to make it spicy.

Had this at dinner last night. It was just meh. Plum and blackberry on the nose with a hint of smoke. Much the same on the palate with a bit of pepper and leather...however, this is reaching. Pretty flat & bland. Wouldn't buy it, wouldn't order it again.

Very sweet .. No intensity .. Don't like it at all I prefer a deep, bold zin with some tannin
