Beautiful wine at La Mère Brazier in Lyon. Incredibly complex with all kinds of fruit, tannins that open up over an hour, deep forest floor and so many other flavors including stone and minerals.

ロベール・シュヴィヨン　ニュイ・サン・ジョルジュ　1er　レ・シェニョ 2005 2005のブルゴーニュは5点のグレートVT。 WA 92-93 ジュヴィヨンはNSジョルジュに1er8畑持つ地元のトップ生産者。 1級畑のシェニョはニュイ・サン・ジョルジュ村の集落とヴォーヌ・ロマネ村との境界線の中腹あたりに位置、標高260～280mの東向き。 「石灰質を多く含む区画として知られる。スパイシーなダークフルーツの印象にフローラルな香り、そこに土や枯葉のような複雑なニュアンスが重なる。」だそうで。 去年1996（これもグレートVT）を飲んだが、比べてこちらはまだ成熟途中だがムチムチ、40代部長。少し濃いめのキレイなルビー、少し成熟の色味が出はじめ。濃いめのベリーに干し肉の様なスモーキーさを感じる。 タンニンがしっかりあるので骨太な骨格を残しつつ少し枯れたセクシーな果実との調和が程よい。 TOPLOTで落札。小売33000円

I practically doubled my experience with red Burgundy in one event and it was perfect to completely convert me to the beauty of this grape in its most typical wine area. This Nuits-Saint-Georges is a delight, with the right maturity right now and room for more. Intense, earthy nose with moist sousbois, violet, bell pepper, red & black cherry & blackberry followed by a fresh and smooth palate with controlled power, cherries, raspberry, mint, relatively restrained but pure acidity & molten tannin

I think '07 is underrated. This is right on the edge of 5 star. Rich dark fruit and layers of flavor. Tannins present but fully smoothed. Highly recommended.

This bottle offered everything I look for in a red Bourgogne from 1er Cru level. Still quite young and fresh, starts to show secondary notes. Will buy again if I can.

i was having octopus tapas, lamb steak and goat cheese raviolle. this wine was particularly good with lamb and raviolle. intense aroma and body was melt with food and then gave all food a new horizon of balance. bravo!

Opened up very nicely after a 3,5 hrs decant. Silky medium- tannins with dense dark fruit in the front and saline middle. Some nicely developing tertiary notes in the end. The oak is well integrated. I really like the structure of this Nuits. Thanks for sharing, Henrik!

Patience is a virtue! 3,5 hours of decanting later it opened up nicely. Smooth integrated tannins and a silky mouthfeel. Rich beautiful nose of dark fruit followed by tertiary notes. Sits nicely on the palate with a medius length. Paired with a mushroom risotto👌🏻 Chevillon delivers!

Age is this wine's friend. Developing layers of rich flavours. Lightening in colour but retaining richness and complexity. Grounded in earthy mineral notes but still holding some acidity and freshness it promises a longer term development. However drinking now superbly. I wanted something so French or shrugged its shoulders and went pfffaf. This was undoubtedly it

My birthday drink. I sipped a little as I decanted, and oh, sous bois, mon amis! I knew this was going to be good. Visibly loosing sheen and becoming a browner shade of burgundy after 15 years in the bottle, the wine's scents are well developed with a dominant earthiness which opened gradually over the course of a few hours to reveal cherry and floral scents. Whatever tannins there were have mellowed nicely and are accompanied by a long lasting mouthy finish. Very nice indeed.

Nuits-Saint-Georges! Cont’d A second NSG from Chevillon this one and from the same vintage 2013! This wine is super value for a price around 50€! Wow what a great experience in the Pinot Noir top line! I love the style of this wine! Getting into top shape but can age for sure! Super in nose & palate with red and black cherry, ripe red fruits, raspberries, great body with vanilla, oak, leather, tertiary notes, some coffee, super in balance. Lovely finish too! I love it! Rate 4,4⭐️

Meaty, woody, nuits. Really a great example of nuits Saint George. Ya, its heady, smokey, animalistic: Chaignots, a diminutive form of oak. It's also really good. Chevillon makes great, old school burgundy. This has some years on it, and it shows.

Beautiful. Smoked meat and earthy strawberry, bright, plush

Thanks to Jack Madrid, I found one of his favorite wine shops in Tokyo, Izakaya Vin near the train station in Shibuya. A very nice Burgundy to go with my duck confit. Yum. Dark in color, floral notes, cinnamon and other spices on the nose with a good sense of terrior. Lots of red fruit, layered with spice into a long finish. Perfect match for my duck! 4.3/5 Stars.

Classic burgundy ruby colour. Very fine nose of flowers. Wonderful mouth, with fine tannins and long, long finish of flowers (violets). Really great.

A brilliant pale ruby. Earthy - a mix of stable, cigar, and cardamom on the nose. Medium to light bodied. Muscular and firm with a coming gentle touch of finesse and delicacy. Absolutely splendid expression of NSG terroir

Elegant on distinct level with an almost unseen seductive nose of ripe strawberries, blueberry and smashed almost ripe plums. A little oak and further notes of grilled red sweet peppers and the smell and flavour of walking through the forest a October morning with tiny drops on the leaves. A very thrilling a lively bottle. Absolutely lovely and drinkable now.

Ahhhh….just the way I remember it. Feminine, silky, floral perfumey, minus the kimchi-ness...and it turned earthy after a while. On a side note, 2010 seemed better than 2014 (based on memory). And resuming on the 2nd day gave a real revelation; that it became way nicer with cola and herbs to show. I'd say this is one of my favourite NSGs. Brilliant!

Transparent medium garnet. Intense aromas of cherry, plums, spices, leather, earth, smoke. Wine is full bodied with fresh acidity. Great structure and intensity. At the beginning of drinking window, but already beautiful.

Get the f... out of here! It's good... Big Bang 💥 Barolo nose and it just goes on down that road, perfect ripened black currant, pepper, leather, tobacco prunes, its right on! Got a lovely tannic bite that keeps it balanced, dark very very black hinty black cherries cow manure finale! Drinking spot on now....

Nose with butter. Spice mix, pepper, tomato stem, and fruit basket. Firm and solid tannins that give the wine a good grip, giving it away as a NSG. Brilliant, clear fruit like raspberries and strawberries. Light pepper. A fresh and lively wine.

Wow, especially for a NSG. Nobody had this as NSG. Guesses ventured from Chambolle, Vosne, northwards... Silky, elegant, good depth & length. Just great! One of NSG's greatest maker... Reminder to myself to hunt for more of this.

Til hjemmelaget andepai inspirert av Roze Gastro. Første møte med moden burgund. Åpner med helt nydelig sødmefull frukt på duft, mens i munn er det ekstremt elegant, ømfintlig og mineralsk. Som et silketørkle. Med luft blir det mer helhetlig og fyldig, med noe earthy toner, et hint av cigar, fortsatt blackberry og cherry. Hint av orange skall? Minerals forsvinner litt med luft. Tanninene fortsatt i bakkant, og en god syre. Nam!

#8899 - coming close to the end of the countdown. Bourgogne 1er cru - unfortunately with corresponding price (cost almost 3 times the price of the German grand cru (GG) I just posted). Complex and dense but also elegant, pleasantly skinny, with clearly defined structure. Present fine tannins and nice fruity acidity. Young - the best years still lie ahead. Little fruit with some cherry, nutty aromas, chocolate, light pleasant oak.

1er cru Chaigots, one of 8 produduced by Chevillon. roses, violets, sour cherry, red fruit, spice, refined and tannins are soft. Tasty now

茶禅華にて。鶉と合わせて。ニュイサンジョルジュのプルミエ。果実味がしっかりしており、やや土っぽさがある。獣感や血液感はなく、比較的にエレガント。鶉と合っていた。 以下、ショップのコメント→ニュイ・サン・ジョルジュの南に位置。若いうちはフレッシュな果実味が印象的。ヴィンテージ全体を通して、ボリューム感と絹のようなテクスチュアが感じられるワイン。

Sehr komplex und im Glas tut sich da ständig was. Am Anfang war ich fast bei Piemont, aber mit der Zeit kommt immer mehr der Pinot durch.

Fantastic Cote de Nuit by Robert Chevillon. On the nose, notes of cherry, strawberries, plum, balsamic, chocolate, and earthy nuances hiding beneath the fruity surface. On the mouth is big, medium to full bodied, velvety and with fine tannins. Very long finish.

Near its peak, this Nuits-Saint-Georges exemplifies pure, ageworthy Pinot Noir, shaped by tradition and meticulous vineyard craftsmanship. Les Chaignots is a premier cru parcel on the northern side of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The 2010 is an outstanding vintage. Aged 16–18 months in French oak (20–30% new). Dried cherry, rose petal, spice. Silky and harmonious yet vibrant, with fine tannins and a long, savory, elegant finish. Mature, complex, and beautifully balanced.

Pale ruby. Strawberry jam, mint, rose petal. Slightly sweet, tart, blueberry, licorice, tobacco, smoke. Medium-full body, medium-high acid, high extract, medium+ coating tannins, medium+ herbed fruit finish. Too young, too big, but shows promise with age: extract too high for early drinking, but well-integrated oak and nice acid. Hold.

A lot of finesse. Young but showing a lot a lot of depth and structure. Coffee, oak, leather, earth, plum. Needed more time to breathe. Came after 3 pinots and was looking good until…. The Burgundy white.

Super nice 2021 Nuit-Saint-George For me to young and to much “in your face” making it a bit unbalanced. Will definitely become more elegant in time. Nose with red cherry, mushroom and earthy notes. 2020にしてはエレガントな仕上がり、程良い酸、少しハーバルなトーンもありどこか官能的 非常に美味しい

Served blind by Somm. No theme. Medium- Ruby. Fresh and pronounced intensity on nose. Perky black cherry, mulberry, hint of orange peel. Quite bold and developing nicely. Dry. Medium bodied. Rich flavours mimicking the aromas, with the addition of some game and savoury notes too. Clean steely minerals. Pinot was easy to call, but I detoured via California 😅

Tried in July 2024. Med body, acidity is Med plus, red fruit nose with some earthly notes still can age further. On palate it has more texture difference. Taste better with the beef. It is a food wine.

ラズベリー。渋みは紅茶、旨みは昆布。タンニン強め、酸味はやや弱め、甘味はやや弱めだが旨みはやや強め。現時点ではタンニンの強さが気になるので数年後くらいに飲むのが良さそう。良い香り、エレガントな印象。樽は前半はタンニンに隠れて後半にやや黒い印象で出てくる。

April 24: Ingen mislyde denne gang, kun ren harmoni! Det ekstra år har gjort godt, og har givet vinen mere vægt, dybde og finesse. Stadig ufattelig ungdommelig for en vin på 14 år. Kæmpe energi i flasken, stor oplevelse!

出汁感ある黒イチゴや紫蘇、スパイス、やや全房ぽいアロマ、温度上がるとどんどん茎感やスパイスが。味わいはニュイらしい土などの苦味伴ったやや重めのいちご果実、茎や果硬のニュアンス。全房比率高そう、ただ年の割にはそこまで青さとか出てなくて良い、酸もしっかりある。

Pairing to my main of Roe Steak. Les Chaignots is situated north of Nuits in one of the better PC areas, and Robert Chevillon is known to be one of the better vignerons there. Nose has meat, blood, tobacco, and some red fruit. Palate has some leather, smoke, and very savoury. Tannins are still sharp but good acidity to complement it. Long lasting taste but not the most complex wine I've had. 93/100.

The wines of Chevillon are an excellent choice if you’re looking for a solid Burgundy without burning a hole in your pocket. Like many 2006 Burgundies I’ve had, this Les Cailles from very old vines, is drinking amazingly well. Intensely perfumed bouquet of dried red fruits, rose petals, forest floor and leather. A touch more masculine in the palate with tannins that are silky and fully integrated. In a very good spot now.

This NSG is dark, smoky and brooding. Tasted blind, there was no doubt this was a Cote de Nuits although lacking a bit of charm and elegance. A challenging vintage but I think this Burg brute just needs more time to flesh out its reticent, chewy tannins and integrate into its intense black and raspberry fruit and brimming acidity. My fellow tasters didn't like this as much as I did. Revisit in 5 years.

Classic Chevillion. A good wine in a difficult vintage. Floral nose. Red fruit with some spice and minerality. Balanced and has good length.

Like sticking your nose deep into the proverbial oak bowl of crushed blueberry-sprinkled pure and sweet strawberry compote. Les Cailles is the vineyard immediately to the north of Les Saint-Georges. Garnet wine, faded to tawny at the rim. 2014 burgundies show really well currently. This bottle was singing from opening. Lots of red currant, cranberry and raspberry, light liquorice, vanilla, leather and damp soil. Very nice balance, not super complex or deep but goes down like water!
