Dry, lot's of tannins
50% Cab franc, 40% merlot, 10% cab Very different than other cab heavy Bordeauxs I've had, more like a good petit verdot. Dark fruit, plum, black currant, licorice, warm oak, a little brambly. Medium acidity and medium tannins.
Bold. Dry tobaco.. repeat
Super intense tannins for this price of a wine. Raspberry earth and espresso with a spicy long finish. Big wine.
Chocolate and berries. Really good. Though I definitely didn’t pay the $8 price point listed here. 14% abv. Really good wine though
A true old school Bordeaux 60/40 Cabernet Sauvignon to Cabernet Franc, using the Franc to soften an tame the big Sauvignon tannins. Superior balance.
Blackberry jelly on the nose. Lush mouthfeel with note of plum, blackberry, black currant, and crust. Medium plus body. Finishes dry. Great value.
Full-bodied, big fruit, lasting tannin; bigger Bordeaux than expected. Really nice drinkable blend of Cab Franc, Merlot, and slight Cabernet Savignon.
Excellent value. Clean if slightly antiseptic nose but big bold fruit forward tastes that mellows through the middle and finishes with just a touch of pucker.
Very enjoyable dark red fruits with a little acidity at the start. Opened up beautifully. Finish with medium tannins. Had the 2015 before and the 18 is just as good.
This is a steal for the dollar. Cab Franc dominates for big fruit flavor and slight tobacco finish. Good stuff and inexpensive. Half hour and it opens up.
A very good cab franc for the money. Let it open for about 30 min. Nice structure, smooth, good fruit, nice value. This Bordeaux is 50% Cab Franc, 40% Merlot and 10% Cab Sav. Will buy again.
This is as good a bordeaux as I have ever had. It’s it Cab Franc forward but also benefits from the jammy Merlot and complexity of the Cab Sauvignon. It is exceptionally smooth from start to finish, which is hard to find in a $17 wine. The flavor is light and filled with blueberry, but it has a fair amount of spice with a hint of licorice in the finish. Highly recommended!
Lactic nose. Lovely figs, berries, fruit. Fairly acidic on the edges of the tongue. More acidic than I usually like, but I like it. I will get it again. I paid less at total wine so it's a good value.
I pick up some cinnamon on the nose along with dark fruit. The tannins are firm, gripping on the tongue but in a nice way. On the palate it is slightly leathery complimented by blackberries. The finish is dry.. in a pleasant way.. and long. A very nice wine for the price, definitely a re-buy in the future.
Smooth, medium body. Easy drinking. Reminds me more of a Pinot. Great with cheeses and enjoyed it with chocolate cake. Wasn't so remarkable with steak. Decanting for longer time makes it even better. On its own would be better.
Lovely, steady Bordeaux blend of 50% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Excellent balance of fruitiness, body, structure and alcohol. Treat yourself to the joie de vivre that is French wine from Bordeaux!
Appealing dark cherry color with scents of dark berries and leather. Can Franc forward that is dry with chewy tannins and light acidity. Flavors rise as it opens with cherry, blackberry, plum, vanilla and some earthy tastes. Great with a grilled pork chop and roasted potatoes. Balanced and a different Bordeaux blend.
Beautiful Cab Franc dominant vin from Bordeaux. Solid balance, black fruit forward with red accents. Black cherry, cassis, blackberry, dragonfruit and touches of black pepper with grounded tannins. Balanced from start to finish, great value.
Viscous, dark red colour. A predominant oak with spicy and blue, black berry and a background of apricot and black pepper. A spicy oak with red and black berry flavour. Tanins present but still delicate in the palate.
3.8 - Inky, dark fruit, blackberry, plum with strong leather and graphite notes. Full bodied, with a lingering finish. Sharp right out of the bottle, so let it breath for about an hour. Well defined tannins. Nothing exceptional, but very enjoyable for the price. Perfect Bordeaux for a gloomy winter night.
Ce vin que j’ai déjà noté il y a quelques mois me laisse toujours la même impression : belle robe, nez assez discret; vin charpenté,très agréable.
Four stars for easy drinking, bit of spice on back end, great price and good balanced wine. If you have a party where you need a case of wine but don't want to break the bank, this is your wine.
Let open for 2 hrs and you will be happy. Blackberry, plum, and floral notes. Dry finish with tobacco and heavy tannins. Pleasently surprised for the price, wish I bought more...
Really like this well priced Bordeaux. The front is soft, and the ending is easy on the palate however the pepper explosion mid-palate makes this wine delightful! It begs to be paired with a hearty dish, or very rich creamy cheeses.
Dark Ruby color, ripe Blackberry nose, Plum, Dark Cherry, Blackberry, Dark Currants, Leather, full body, dry Earthy finish.
50% can franc, 40% merlot, 10% cab Simple yet elegant- what am excellent blend fruit and bright notes Cheers
Some cigar box and barnyard on the nose. Blackberry, tobacco, chocolate, and dark tea on the palate.
Fruit-forward, surprisingly structured and elegant for price, but elegant as expected of a Bordeaux.
Dark red, almost black in appearance, oak dominated with excessive tannins supplemented by red fruits and nice minerality.
Very good Bordeaux made up of 50% Cab Franc, 40% Merlot and 10% Cab Sauvignon. It was a little short up front right away but the fruit made its way to the palette quickly. Never overbearing, the finish was clean. A nice Wine and decent value.
Excellent Bordeaux! Love the Cabernet Franc. True French red!
Blackcurrant, smoke, oak, cedar, coffee, tobacco. Rich and well-balanced
Fruity dry dark fruit flavor with grippy tannins
Elegant blackberry and raspberry fruit with finish of woods or oak or forest floor.
Mostly cab franc at 50%. Good fruit, raspberries.
Very nice blend, smooth with a light bite. Excellent value for price.
Just picked this up for a penny. Very nice fruit with a touch of tannins with a woody arrangement!
Abosolutely wonderfully balance. Terrific dark fruits with good tannins. Smooth finish. A gem!
Very good wine! Smooth, full-fruit wine...had this wine to open the Thanksgiving get together.
Nice elegant dark fruit forward with a subtle woodsy structure. Really pairs well with red meat
The firm tannins make this great with food.
Good dry and full bodied red. Definitely would drink again
Nice QPR wine. Flavors of blackberries, plum, leather, earth and cedar. The Cab Franc softens and gives it a beautiful floral nose.
Deep dark red. Fruit and spice on the nose. Bold, tannic (4/5), and nicely acidic, all well integrated. Dark red fruits, leather, tangerine rind, tobacco, clove on the palette. Very smooth. Long dry cherry finish. Given the flavor, color, and the tannins, it seems it could lasted several more years in the cellar.
Solid Bordeaux! Creamy blueberry, Boysenberries, cassis, saffron, lemon zest, vanilla wafers with jam. Definitely worth every bit of $15 & went very well with tacos!
earthy tobacco plum blueberry
50% Cabernet Franc, 40%, Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauv. Somewhat light nose, but prominent of dark fruit with notes of moss and oak. On the palate, there is a pleasant spiciness of mint, dark fruit, red cherry, a bit of dark chocolate, and a pronounced tart red cherry finish—courtesy of the cab franc. The age of this wine (nine years) provides a level of sophistication that is difficult to achieve with a younger vintage. Great value at $15.
Bought this because of the price and interesting blend, being 50% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Nose has some dark berries, forest floor, and mushrooms. Palette starts with juicy blackberry, before transitioning to flavors of dry earth and leather. Little bits of mushroom and oak throughout. Tannic finish
Very dry but also drinkable. Leathery, but lush. Teases the tongue to beg for more. Enjoyed it with a rare NY Strip and, hopefully, an Astros win!

Vinho bem feito.
Medicine body, smooth. Tobacco undertones
Dark fruit, dark chocolate, and spice on the the nose. The palette is tart, with dark chocolate, and some spice. Medium acidity & grippy tannins.
Almost like a Cabernet without tannins. It was good with steak, and a reasonable alternative to a cabernet, but definitely not my preference.
After breathing a couple hours it was smoother but this high percentage cab franc had a little too strong of a taste for me to enjoy without eating at the same time.
Deep ruby, light garnet color. Cocoa, coffee, and campfire on the nose; earthy no fruit. High tannins with blackberry and pepper on the palette. Due to high Cabernet franc content, wait until 2021 to let it open up more and get better fruit expression.
Bordeaux bastante bom. Intenso, taninos firmes e média acidez. Aromas de amora, cereja e carvalho. Ótima relação custo-benefício.
I purchased this for ratio of Cab Franc at 50%, plus I had heard good things about the '10 (already sold out by the time I arrived). It had a fantastic nose with floral accents that followed over into flavor profile. I was surprised by how approachable it was already for such a young Bordeaux (even at the low end of Bordeaux), but It also showed wonderful potential for short-term improvement. It makes for a very nice food wine now, however. Great QPR at $17, but I was able to buy more at $15.
Dark chocolate / earthy nose. Dark fruit and maybe black pepper - dry, velvety texture, medium finish.
decent bordeaux, not a lot of complexity but nice flavor profile. lots of plum, qite a bit of acidity, and ripe tannins.
Generally not a Bordeaux fan, but this was pretty decent. Nice deep and balanced without being too tannic.
Rubi brilhante com halo dourado e aromas frutados. Álcool bem integrado com taninos elegantes e acidez média. Típico Bordeaux correto em sua proposta. 3,7
3.4. Safra 2017.
Lembra pastilhas Le Cachou Lajaunie. Final com permanência amadeirada e especiada.
Merlot 40%, Cab Franc 50% en beetje Cab Sauvignon uit Douzelon de Gironde. Maar liefst 14.5% alcohol dat is toch opvallend. De wijnmaker noemt het een vin moderne.
Nicely balanced. Great with Asian food
Spicy with strong pepper flavour, interesting fruit. Smooth on the tongue
Great value for the money.
spicy cherry nose, light ruby color, tobacco, raspberry, spicy
Not bad, but not worth $19.99 a bottle.
Vintage 2016. I would rebuy. Needs some breathing room. It's a good representation of a Boudreaux for this price point. Total Wine $16.99 Feb 2022
Pretty delish, particularly considering the price. Notes of cassis, violet and bell pepper.
Nice fruit favor. It's predominantly Cab Franc which I'm not a huge fan of. It's not too dry. Very tasty.
