2018, 5 yrs at time of tasting. Garnet, showing age. Medium tears w no extract. Fruit has gone leaving an earthy but not complex nose. Bone dry, elegant fruit with licorice and tobacco leaf—especially of the finish, smooth, still has lively acidity, great balance and medium/long finish. Very high quality, interesting, and very drinkable Barbera. 14.5% ABV. 100% Barbera. $24 at Twin Liquors.

伊ピエモンテのバルベーラ単一の赤。 透けるが濃く美しいルビーレッドに、バニラ、ラズベリー、ブルーベリー、石灰、ローズヒップティーの香り。 丸く滑らかなアタックから、赤系ベリーの凝縮感のある果実味が骨太な印象を醸しギュッと詰まった酸がそれを軽やかに流すが、甘みはなくほろ苦さの効いたごくドライでシックな味わいに、並みのバルベーラとの違いを実感する。タンニンは柔らかだが、全体の印象はリジッドでタイト。 なかなか美味しい。

バローロ2014 ピオチェーザレ 新樽を多用した現代風の味わいは避け、スロヴァニア産のオークの大樽で熟成させることにより、ネッビオーロの特性を尊重した柔らかみのある味わいを表現。ドライフラワーを思わせる香りにスパイシーなニュアンス。味わいはなめらかで非常にエレガンスを感じます。たっぷりとした豊かなボディとタンニン。気品あふれる味わいとさらなる長期熟成の可能性を感じる1本です。

イタリア北西部のピエモンテ州、ピオ・チェザーレ バルベーラ・ダルバ2022をグラスで。バルベーラ100%。 色味は濃いめのルビー、香りはブルーベリーのバランスにブラックチェリーのニュアンス、石灰のミネラル感、リコリスのスパイス香、革香とロースト感ある樽香。 飲み口やや厚みある口当たり、ふくよかな果実味にバランスよい爽やかな酸味、タンニンは厚みあるがきめ細やか。 見た目は軽やかだが、香りと飲み口は程よい重さを持っており、綺麗な酸味と相まって輪郭の見える味わい。 たまたま2か月ほど前にこのピオ・チェザーレのバローロを飲んでいたが、あちらが華やかかつ男性的ながっしりとした骨格なのに対し、こちらはがっしりとさは共通しつつ幾分軽く華やか、さながら腹筋女子。 The aroma is a balance of blueberries, nuances of black cherries, mineral feeling of lime, licorice, leather fragrance, and roasted barrel fragrance.

2021.3.15 息子の大学決定記念。ハラハラしたけどこの時期どんどん合格の連絡来るのね(汗)明日も滑り止めもう一校の合格発表だけどとりあえずスルーで安心。人間とはワガママな生き物です(しんみり) チェーザレ・ピオのエチケットが･･･って思ってたけど、ピエモンテの最古のワイナリーの一つで130年以上経った今でも変えてないんだって。知ってました？奥さん？(笑) 味わいは本当に昔ながらの作り方で滋味深いって言うか･･･って130年も生きてないですけど。 やっと本題 香りはバルベーラにしてはやや重な雰囲気。アルコール度数は14.5%。抜栓直後は酸が立っててバランスが悪い感じ。アルコール感は格別ないがどっしり。予想してたバルベーラっぽさはないけど結構好きなワイン

Not a huge fan of barberas that I have had. This is really good. Easy drinking and pleasant. Enough acid and tannin to be interesting.

A glass and unsure of the vintage. Intense ripe raspberry. Quite high acidity. Soil and lime stone. Medium complexity. Went really well with garlic grilled cauliflower. Cannot complain for a casual Sunday light dinner at Uovo.

Blackberry and sage with elegant aromas to match. Good tannins last throughout the finish and some dry acidity ensures the wine never becomes too much. Was able to finish a bottle alone and was enjoyed considerably with tomato and oxtail stew.

Vintage 2017 Consumed Jan 2021 Eye : Ruby, medium viscosity, med stickiness. Young gap by the rim. Nose : Cherry, vanilla, plum, oak, hint of cheese. Mouth : Chewy and juicy, full yet balance structure. Dusty tannin but velvety on the palate, bright red fruit jammy acidity. Impressive oaky finish, very long length.

What a great Barbera. I'd say this d'alba is better than their d'asti. Bold cherry and oak flavours. A hint of tobacco in the aftertaste. Not as acidic as other barbera's. Compares very well to the barbera d'alba from Rizzi which is my regular.

Lækker duft og smag af blomme og brombær. Åbnet et par timer før virker fornuftigt. En rigtig god oplevelse, uden at skille sig meget ud. 4 stjerner er måske i overkanten, men 3,5 er for lidt.

Great stone fruit in this slightly heavier style of moscato. Not as crisp as others but the stone fruit balances this very nicely.

(Fr after English) Pleasant Moscato d'Asti, quite typical with its peach and floral nose, and refreshing mouth. Not the type of wine I would drink everyday but the quality is ok. Moscato d'Asti plaisant, assez typique avec son nez floral et de pêche, et sa bouche rafraîchissante. Pas le type de vin que je boirais quotidiennement mais la qualité est correcte.
