The best white wine I had tasted so far, in double Magnum format. Rich in fruits, ripe but balanced with high acidity, reminiscent of chrysanthemum tea. Mon amour!

True excellence. Nose is endless with evolution during the drink. Taste is dry, but very deep. Outstanding wine!

Iconic and superbly aged. Rich, opulent, yet still very balanced, showing some similarities with its younger brother.

100/100 昨年のベストワイン。自宅にて抜栓。コルクも液面も心配なく、状態は完璧。これまでに飲んだ白ワインの中でも頂点に位置するほどの素晴らしさ。極限まで薄く叩いた鋼の薄膜で、フルーツの透明な核を包み込んだかのよう。真球のようなバランスで、すべての要素が渾然一体となり、とてつもなく美味。 黄金色でとろみがあり、爽やかな蜂蜜やミント、クルミ、フィナンシェ、柑橘類や完熟リンゴの蜜、石灰などの香りが複雑に立ち上る。 味わいは濃密ながら爽やかでみずみずしく、研ぎ澄まされたミネラルと酸が一本の線の様に存在していて、とてつもないスケール感、エネルギーをしっかりと支えている。香りと同じ要素が全体にある。 モンラッシェに似ているワイン、という文句は巷で見受けられるが、こうした熟成を見ると、モンラッシェはやはり唯一無二の存在であると確信する。

Vivino Internation Chapter - Day 2 "Like there is no tomorrow" 19.5/20 For me the four best vintages for drinking Montrachet today are 88, 89, 90 and 92, all from the pre-premox days. This is one of the finest I ever had with an amazing purity of honeycomb and white flowers. Huge aromatics followed by a powerfull attack. Where you might expect a fat finish, the magic of full monty Puligny kicks in: it not only shows but simply redefines perfect acidity and minerality. Pure emotion.

More brief notes from Vivino Int’l Chapter Day 2: Honeysuckle, fresh herbs, deft use of oak, great underlying power, incredibly balanced. Concentrated and complex. Great tension. Very ripe. Just brilliant. Superb whites, all full Montys, were served at the event, but this was my favorite. Thanks to Johan P. for sharing this bottle.

One of the best Chardonnay I’ve ever tried! Beutifuly aged, mineral, acidity is spot on. Honey, pear and a little apricot, amazing texture and body. Wow!

Refined, sumptuous, still quite elemental where the masses of orchard fruit and the seasoning of oak still haven't quite meshed together. Still young! Finely knit, rich and long.

Montrachet is always exceptional, and Joseph Drouhin is one of the most perfectionistic and least paternalistic of Beaune merchant, combine the two and one get a near perfect wine.

White orchids, stone, fresh acidity, razor sharp, pears, apples, very long finish. A complete Montrachet! Great great wine, I'm looking forward to drink it again in few years or decade.

Very consistent. Simply out of this world. The wine seems build for decades long ageing. So far no sign of it getting old nor fading. Vibrant developing more nuts aromas.

Drouhin is the biggest owner in Montrachet GC with 2.7ha (sounds huge for my Swiss approach of wine 😁) Roasted notes, then brioche, curry and lemon peel, chalk, vanilla, smoked bacon, cooked apple and pear. An absolute stellar! Very balanced butter, chamomile, oak and minerals (could be better but this was already 2004). Some tropical hints.

Had this as a magnum and… waouw. This is extremely round and savoury. Honeycomb, roasted almonds, soufflé rice with thin acidity. A day later and I can still taste this. Wonderful.

I have never had a wine where the overwhelming power and body doesn’t come from oak. The tension and length are shockingly high and long. Butter, minerals, lemon. What a wine.

2015 - ripe fruits. Deeper than the chevalier Montrachet I tried that night. Supposedly the best that night but tasted one step below other. To try again with lobster or langoustine.
