This time of year calls for nostalgia! Black cherry, red currant, cola (licorice), cinnamon, vanilla, cedar, leather, blood orange, smoke, forest floor. Complex. Long finish. Balanced with medium tannin and medium acidity. Medium garnet. Intense aromas and flavors. Really beautiful expression of this varietal. Paired with a autumn pasta dish. Decanted for an hour. Highly recommend!

Den er super bahagelig fra start til slut. Den har nuancer af vanilje og lidt peber. Det er en fantastisk vin, selvom prisen også er lidt pebret.

Cinnamon, anise, oak, leather and smoke... gave it around 3 hours of air and it was just deep and excellent

Drank it on the young side but sat decanted for 20 minutes. Leather and cherry on the nose with a light but balanced finish. Would buy again

Wauw!!! Nose: Primary notes of dark cherries and wild strawberries. Secondary notes of oak actually plenty of it. Vanilla, forest floor, smoke and some leather and wood. Palate: Cherry as the fruit present on the palate. The secondary notes of smoke, vanilla, forest floor etc. is present on the palate as well. Great tannin level (medium-plus) combined with the acidity level gives it a great structure. I save some bottles for years to come.

4.3 *** this was amazing after a good 3 hours to open. It's just entering its prime & was amazing both in & with my cast iron, red wine braised filet steak tips! Mamma mia che spettacolo. 2014 annata difficile anche in Langa ma qui il tempo pare essersi fermato e aver bypassato alla grande l'anno sventurato. Compatto e elegantissimo al naso. Grande freschezza in bocca, con una beva non comune. Bravi bravi (as always)!

2015. Medium body, tannins, and acidity. Tobacco, black cherry, a hint of smoke, anise, and dried fig on the nose. Rhubarb, cedar, black cherry on the palate. Good now, can last a few years.

Pale garnet color. Sour cherry, cedar, mushroom cap, and cranberry nose. Dry. High acidity. High tannins. Cranberry, sour cherry, prune, potting soil, mushroom cap, tobacco leaf, and prune.

Nice nose. strawberry slate and dried mint. Dried Strawberry and wet slate on thefirst sip. Not much finish. Enjoyable but not great. Went well with Tagliatelle, mushroom, carmelized onion., applewood smoked bacon. (Yes my wife is a good coolk)

Cor grená medio, límpido. No nariz é limpo, de média intensidade, com cerejas em calda, couro, madeira e baunilha. Na boca é seco, corpo médio, acidez alta e tanino pronunciado. Sabores de fruta vermelha madura, aveludado, álcool levemente desintegrado, com persistência longa. Falta amadurecer os taninos, mas já é um excelente vinho.

High acidity, leather cherry oak

Nose of earthiness, high acidity , fungi on palate

89 Aroma had plenty of oak, dark cherries, forest strawberries and smoke. Flavor showed succulent cherries, forest floor, oak, smoke and pepper. Medium plus tannins, medium body, medium plus tannins and dry.

4.25 (why aren’t there increments of .25). Tons of spice and licorice on the nose. Dried cherry and potting soil. Perfect balance. Medium body. Complex, terroir driven finish of leather, smoke, dried leaves and pepper.

4.25. Lovely Barolo. Decanted it for almost 2 hours and still likely needed another hour. Colour was light brown and rustic, very similar to a Brunello. It is likely the most smooth Barolo I have ever tasted. Low to medium acidity with low tannins resulting in an effortless flow. Medium bodied and an ABV of 14%. Aromas of leather and tobacco. Almost brown to the eye, very dry, dust, graphite, not so fruity more pure nebbiolo. A very clean and distinct wine that does not flirt eith you.

Cherry, tobacco, great tannin structure

On the nose, this has cherry and blackcurrant. Secondary notes of chocolate, oaky spice and creamy vanilla. Some baking spices and then some rose. On the palate this is full velvety and rich.

Excellent Barolo, well balanced with a little acidity and fresh fruit tones. Despite its 2016 vintage, still feels young and its case mates could be cellared for some time to come.

King of the wine & wine of the king. Incredible nose but complex palate. Chewey but becomes magical with food. Paired with wood roasted Nebraska Bison Loin (eggplant for me) with wood oven roasted tomatoes & gnoccho. $90

Not the fanciest Barolo but very approachable, and a great pair for chicken parm. Medium garnet color and full bodied. Nose of fresh strawberry, gravel, and a bit of leather. Opening taste of cinnamon, black cherry, and red currant., then moved into some smoky, savory, meaty flavors. Very nice finish with ample tannic grip but enough restraint to go down smooth. Needs an hour or so of decanting but worth the wait. Incredible value as it’s on the low end price wise at just $35 per bottle. 8/1

2/5 at tasting Nose - rose petal Palate - medium to high tanin, slight red fruit and rose petal. Stronger flavours of tar, lingers on palate more complex finish

Some interesting things going on here, but a bit too acidic for my taste. Would probably be a lot better paired with a rich pasta vs on its own. Update: Yes, MUCH better with a rich bowl of pasta. Becomes delightfully spicy. Will pair very nicely with a smoky burger. Still not a fan of it on its own, but great with food.

3.3 Too young, but made a decent pairing with the barbecue dinner. Would recommend to hold this in the cellar for 3-5 years👍🇮🇹🍷

Catching up on my Fourth of July backlog. Limited notes on this one. Just a decent entry-level Barolo from the commune of Serralunga D’Alba.

Langhe Barolo. It has leather, cigar box notes up from and ends with muted strawberry and rose flavors. It has smooth tannins but a short finish.

Mild tannin, mellem bredde og blød afrunding.

Quite delicious if you get past the acidity

Maybe I bought a bad bottle (magnum). Here and there, the wine politely complemented my steak with vanilla, cherry, and earthy nuances and positively strong tannins. It came with some of the elegance of a big Barolo, but in the end lacked the lasting smoothness and didn’t inspire the desire for more that I had expected. Tasted tired.
