Muri-Gries Lagrein Südtirol

An absolute bargain of a wine that punches far above its weight. The nose is inky and concentrated with tons of red fruit and a hint of wild flower honey. Oddly it is lighter in body on the palate with medium tannins with more of that concentrated red fruit. Silky, long, and a little dry with good acidity. A must buy at an ideal price.

Der Lagrein aus Muri ist für mich eine der besten Weine der Welt. Und warum ich ihn keine 5.0 gegeben habe? I am impressed by this swiss wine. It's very balanced and clean. Nose: oak cherry chocolate blackberry on the palate : chocolate plum vanilla earthy. Good acidity and medium plus body. A lovely wine for a around dinner. I had it in Lenzerheide.

Vintage 2020 is exceptional. I have aged my bottles for 2 years and it payed off. Super classic lagrein, intense, fruity, tastes of black cherries and plums. Fresh, vibrant, very much alive. Balanced around its profound acidity and still quite gripy tannins. Very fun to drink.

Gran bel Lagrein. Viola ribes frutti di bosco ed una bella nota ematica. Pieno in bocca caldo e beverino con un retrogusto anarognolo. Buona la persistenza. 90/100

First time I tasted Lagrein, I got to taste a really good wine. I was hoping to repeat this experience and with this wine I managed to do that. This full bodied wine with a dark ink colour was surprisingly fresh. Polished tannins and medium plus acidity. Plum, earthy elements and chocolate on the nose. Initial attack has a tangy red fruits. Mid palate has a interesting bitter element (maybe almond). Long taste. Will definitely drink again.

Cherry red wine from Alto Aldige, Italy. 100% lagrein. Still an unknown grape variety for me. This "cooler" region is known for white grapes but the lagrein is still worth tasting. Very intense aromas of red fruit, such as cherry, strawberry, raspberry, combined with spices such as pepper, liquorice, thyme. Light oak and vanilla notes. Earthy, leather, a fresh vegetal touch. Soft attack, reasonable acidity present and medium tannins. Long finish ending on fresh cherry. Atypical but a must try!

Dark, almost fully opaque and ruby on the rim. Has this interesting inky look to it. Reminds me a bit of Foradori. Dark berries on the nose, some caramel and floral notes that come out. Strong but measured acidity that hits your tongue first time but mellows out. Can really taste some plum, blueberries maybe. The fruit is super dark and intense yet still dry. Med-low tannins but sufficient structure. Very interesting, different texture. And super easy drinking for a wine with so much dark fruit.

Лагрейн по-моему впервые пью. Отличная история вообще, бархатистое, плотное, ярко все, лакрица, шоколадный тортик с вишней. Очень шикарное, и одновременно такое искреннее, без пафоса.

Wir sind nicht die ultimativen Lagrein Liebhaber, aber der hat was. Eine Stunde vorher dekantieren. Wer mal wissen möchte, wie die Geschmacksnote "Leder" bei Wein erkennbar ist.... Voilà. Dazu schöne tiefrote Farbe. Gute Sache. 3,8.

Kan aan de omstandigheden liggen (dag vol ontberingen in de Dolomieten), maar vond dit een heeerlijk glas.

This was my first south Tyrolian wine, and was drunk by Lake Garda. Limpid and flat initially but was better on the second day - opened up and balanced berry flavours. Shortish finish.

Not bad at all! Green sticks and cured or smoked meat on the nose. Yum. On the lighter side, with good acidity and low tannin.

A new discovery, new grape lagrein, very nice A very dark fruit, black berries mulberries on the nose and palate, it s silky fermented( tiny fizzy) on the palate This northern part of italy really does amazing wines for sure🙂!!

Eccellente lagrein, uno dei più interessanti in questa fascia di prezzo. Equilibrato ed elegante, si presta bene per ogni occasione grazie alla sua versatilità. Prugna, mora, vaniglia, pepe e note erbacee.

Kräftiges Purpurrot im Glas. Die Nase ist einladend und vielschichtig nach Schokolade, reifen Zwetschgen. Im Geschmack elegant mit samtiger Struktur, dicht verwobenen Gerbstoffen, leichten Bittermandeltönen. Dezente Säure und ein langer Abgang.

Wie ein sehr leichter Rotwein. Pflaume, rote Johannisbeere, etwas Erdbeere

A non-Vivino friend kindly gifted this to me. His reasoning: I was in the region in March, and the man in the shop had recommended it for a geek that liked under-extracted wines. Work in progress would be my assessment. This was among the richer Lagrein I have tried (albeit a small sample set). Plum, damson, cranberry but some nice rock, mineral and cocoa powder shavings in the background. Fine tannins. Felt quite alcoholic . A good pizza wine but not so strong standalone.

Ein typischer junger Lagrein aus Südtirol. Für mich ein wunderbarer Tischwein, der sehr gut zur deftigen und herzhaften regionalen Küche passt.

2020 Fettes lila-rot Nase: Blaubeeren, Kirsche, schwarze Johannisbeeren, Vanille Gaumen: wild, sehr ausladend, Kirsche, fast cremig, Blaubeermilchshake Gut. Ich finde etwas unreif

Vino bevuto in un "bar" senza le dovute attenzioni.. credo anche sia stato aperto qualche giorno prima.. insomma al naso molti sentori terziari e un fondo costante di confettura di amarena, il tutto un po ossidato. In bocca fresco abbastanza tannico e non molto fine.. da riprovare magari appena aperto e in un altro contesto
