This is a beautiful wine that, for whatever reason, is widely available in the 2001 vintage still. The wine is now complex and offers really rich and interesting secondary and tertiary notes.

This wine is part of Viini magazine's Vuoden viini competition and therefor should be in the top 3 of mediocre priced wines sold in Finland. It's a little more expensive than the others in that competition, but I think it tastes really good. If I bought a new bottle I'd definitely let it cellar for a year or two as the taste was a little unmatured.

Great delight of a wine. Fine usage of barrel, slight coconut scent on the nose. Dark ruby colour, maybe more tinted into black. The palate is very mature, complex. Tannins are very well integrated into the final structure, a bit of fruityness: cherry and blackcurrant. The finish is pleasant, medium to long aftertaste.

It has been years since I had this wine, and it is as fantastic as I remember. Big body, strong complex flavor, low acidity and a lot of personality. Goes well with meats and spiced foods but also by itself with a bowl of olives.

Great and approachable rioja reserva. Perfectly balanced black fruit and oak, with just enough of the smoke and tobacco you see in reservas and gran reservas. A softer reserva that will leave everybody pleased, even though I still prefer the heavier stuff. For this price point, I'll definitely buy it again.

Dark fruit, dried fruit, leather, oaky and forest floor on the nose. Firm, deep, light warm finish. Integrated tannins. Delicate acidity and balanced power. 12 years and still a pretty young wine. Faustino 1 is s wine beste served on +20 years. Better after decanting.

Oh yeah, this is the stuff. The flagship Spanish tempranillo, for good reason. A powerhouse of a wine, without being jammy. The aging benefits are evident - we drank the 2016 this week (late 2025) and it was terrific. I am sure it would be as good or better in a few more years. Worth the splurge, for sure.

Excellent value. Paired with a rustic 12hr Spanish stew. Bottle actually presented better after 24hrs open, which speaks to the wine’s quality. Persistent red fruit with undeniable terroir, medium grit tannin, touch of pepper, vanilla from the oak but it fell off / integrated elegantly the next day, and truly balancing acidity. For the price, this over-delivers.

Really nice and balanced rioja with good complexity. Aromas of blackberries, plums, vanilla, oak, tobacco, maybe some bread and a waxiness. I found many of the same notes with a touch of caramel on the palate. Medium to full bodied, dry, well polished tannins and a nice long finish.

Great Rioja. 14% My brother recommended this as being one of his favorites Rioja's. I've tried it some years ago when I had less of a great taste for wine and with smaller wine glass. This is up there, but I know another Rioja better than this. But it was on the shelves of Netto on spot discount, so had to get it👌

Faustino V Reserva 2018 nos envuelve con su aroma a frutas negras maduras como pasas, acompañado de matices balsámicos y un dulce recuerdo a barrica tostada. Se percibe también un delicado aroma a cacao y trufa. En boca, se presenta equilibrado y elegante, con una textura suave y un toque tánico. 美味しい。 長期間樽熟されているので、樽香強め。 だが、スパイシーな樽香では無く、エレガントさが際立つような柔らかな樽の香り。 ワイン産地はスペインのリオハ。 品種はテンプラニーリョ主体。 ミディアムボディで、フランスブルゴーニュのピノ・ノワールを思わせるような味わい。 開いた後の香りもふくよかで華やか。

非常に複雑な味だけど、よーく出来たワイン。明治屋お勧めのワイン。温度によって味も変わる。やや辛口。薫り、品も良し。Riojaの誇りを感じる。 Good complex taste. This must be one of the best Rioja wine. Dry with fine aroma and no doubt this is categorized in good quality wine.

Picked up this Faustino V Riserva for €10 at the local SuperValu. Sitting in the middle of the Faustino range this V Riserva spends 24 months in new American oak, 2x what's required by the DOC. 92% Tempranillo / 8% Mazuelo. Black cherry dominant, some plum, fig, blueberries with a smokey, black pepper and clove edge. A lot richer on the nose than the palate, with crunchy black fruits, med+ acidity, chalky tannins that you feel in the cheeks, hot and tart on the finish.

Fairly decent, if a bit heavy red. The oak is mixed with some cherry, both of which are the majority of the flavours. Little bit meaty initially.

Strawberry on the nose, with a warm chocolate, oaky, black-forest flavour on the palate. On the dry side. Nice and mellow after being left to rest. Better than it’s 3.5 rating suggests, pairing perfectly with manchego cheese.

Caramel, vanilla on the nose. Slight pepper followed by caramel. Smooth, easy to drink, with not a lot of heat.

Ruby color. Medium body. Leather and oak notes on nose. Palate is short with red fruit, plum and tobacco flavors.

Een archetype Rioja, zacht van smaak, hout dat voldoende diepgang biedt. Er zijn andere Rioja's met meer karakter, maar een Faustino stelt nooit teleur.

Fruit forward for a Rioja with notes of cherry, blackberry, oak, and mushroom.

Bloedrood. Aromas van zwart fruit. In de mond een zeer aangename structuur van tannines, aan de lichte kant en fruitig. In de verte wat eik. Lange afdronk.

Faustino V Reserva apresenta-se límpido, de intensidade média+, cor rubi com leve nuance granada. No nariz é limpo, de intensidade pronunciada, com aromas de cereja preta, ameixa, baunilha, coco, tabaco, cedro e especiarias doces. Em boca é seco, de corpo médio+, taninos médios e polidos, acidez média+ e álcool médio. Final médio+ a longo, com fruta madura e madeira integrada. Vinho equilibrado, elegante e clássico, com tipicidade riojana e agradável persistência.

Aleluia, encontrei um espanhol que me agradasse. Mesmo rodando pela Andalusia e Jerez foi difícil encontrar vinhos que pudesse dizer que espetáculo. Mesmo entre os brancos. Bom corpo, equilibrado e com final em boca prolongado.

Ruby color. Intensive in the nose with vanilla tobacco oak strawberry. Medium body on the palate with raspberry blackcurrant vanilla oak. Ok finish.

Color: ruby plus orange on the edge. Aromas of blueberry jam. Modest acidity and tannin. Perfect paring with paella. うさぎ肉とチキンのパエリアととてもよく合う！

For me this is the best of the mass produced young Rioja that are readily available from any supermarket. As always my rating reflects price and quality. Best described as a good every day wine. Medium body, tannin and acidity. Oak, cherry, vanilla and various red fruit notes. Decent.

このワインは大切な友人に似ている。聡明で頭脳明晰であるが、人懐こく世界中に友人がいる。このテンプラニーリョ主体の丁寧に造られたワインは、出色のバランスの良さを誇る。夜の森林のように濃厚だが明けの明星のようにフレッシュ。十分に晩餐会をアテンドできる複雑性があるが急に誘われたオフィスランチのような敏捷性もある。特筆すべきはその安定感で、アルゴンガスに依る保存は当然するものの抜栓後1週間経ったボトルをグラスに注いで1時間経過しても、エンサイマーダのような甘やかな風味が失われることはない。これは娘と同じ2018年に産まれて7年もの歳月を丁寧に過ごしていた証拠だ。そんな彼と友人になれたことをグローバルレベルで誇りに思う。

感動はないけどデイリーワインとしては最高レベルのコスパだと思う。これで1000台なのすごい。赤系ベリー、ローズの香り。シンプルだがジューシーさとアルコールのパワフルさが程よくある。

I bought this miniature today at Malaga airport, I have tried a lot of vintages of this Faustino Spanish red wine and it’s always a reliable and trustworthy easy drinker! It has those red fruit flavours of red cherry, raspberry and strawberry with hints of oaky chocolate and vanilla and some smoky tobacco and earthy leather aromas on the nose. It’s medium to full bodied, has little acidity with silky soft tannins. This would pair well with cheese burgers, chorizo or tomato based dishes.

🌏 It is well known: a classic, a mega-popular wine, a Rioja based on Tempranillo, and all in all, you can sense this in a blind test without any problem. As you know, I love Tempranillo, which is why I drink Faustino with sincere pleasure. Cherry, plum, forest floor, a pleasant, even if short, slightly leathery finish. Polish in comments.

Tinto de Rioja. Tempranillo. Rojo con líneas brillantes. Aromático madera. Frutos rojos, cerezas. Buen picor al comienzo. Luego livianito y final fugaz.

Rioja through and through. Got it for half Vivino price, good value.

匂いは酸味があるように感じるが、飲むと違う

3,7/5 Приятная молодая риоха. Яркая, фруктовая стилистика. Много красных ягод (клубника, вишня). Даже легкие оттенки бочки. Чуть пряно. Просто, но за свои деньги отличный вариант.

Smooth, some oak and vanilla and refreshing acidity. Lacking complexity though. Long finish.

Много дуба с ванилью и даже чутка кокосом, за всем этим в основном вишня. Средние танины и послевкусие. Намёк на третичную ароматику, небольшой. Вполне нормальная Риоха, нравится стиль

Typical Rioja nose with red cherry, coconut, toast and oak. On the palate, dry, rich and good structured, but feels a bit too much cooked red fruit. Guess it didn’t survive the summer heat…

Had it with meaty dinner. Red berries on the nose. Rhasberry(?) on the palate. Low bodied, medium acidity and medium-high tannins. OK wine with dinner too expensive for that honestly.

Fresh pomegranate and blood orange dominant very lovable tempranillo for a usual evening or holidays. Medium acidity with remarkable spices make this wine very soft and easy. Good catch if looking a representative Rioja.

From a true classic winery with history to 1861 comes the 2018 series VII. The Rioja vintage was weak and unfortunately it shows in this ysyal beautiful wine. The color - a little thin ruby. The nose is good with blackberry, boysenberry, tobacco and leather. Nice aromas just not robust. The taste is good too with nice fruits, pepper and spice box but there is a little herbaceous hint to it. The finish is balanced, nice mouthfeel but is relatively quick. It shows well in the price category but is

Blackberries, billberries, cassis, vanilla, leather, smoke and oak on nose. High acidity, medium+ tannins, medium- body. Edgy sharp mouthfeel, dry with some residual sugars, fruity but the flavors vanish quite quickly. Short finish.

食事メインの同僚の集まりなので、ワインはハウスワインとして出されてる、この白のみ。 でも、魚介が多いスパニッシュに合わせるには良く考えられてるなーと思いました。 フルーティで華やかな香り。角のない酸味。 よくありがちな変なエグミや酸味もないし。温度が上がると少し短所が出てきましたが、保冷して飲むにはさっぱりしてて美味しくいただけました。 ワインの品揃えは結構あったし、リストには飲んでみたい魅力的なワインもありました。その為、逆にちょいフラストレーション(._.)
