Henschke is a family-owned, 158-year-old Australian winery, located in Keyneton, South Australia in the Eden Valley wine region. It produces the 'Hill of Grace', one of Australia's "cult wines", and was considered Australia's second best wine by James Halliday in 2009.

One of my big favorites, an awsome experience, bold, heavy cabernet sauvignon, amazing aftertaste. A must have for special days!!!
Full mouth assault of blackberry and cherry, with pepper and a little chocolate and mint at the end and well balanced tannins.
Opened the 1993 a few days ago and required half hour of decanting before it fully opened to reveal a cigarbox aroma and old-world cab sav flavour.
Full bodied with french wines character texture. Round and smooth finished
Amazing Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2013 is bold-creamy, very pleasant. The finish is smooth and very long, with small hint of bitterness.
1991. Great body hints of fruit and woody spices it finishes with a chocolate butter like lasting note. Good for special occasions. :-)

2012. Pronounced plum, leather, oak, spices on the nose and palate. Smooth high tannins. Med acid. Med to long finish. Very good to outstanding wine
Cyril Henschke Cabernet is a beautifully perfumed wine with intense pure blackcurrant cedar meaty characters, fine-grained tannins and savoury, vanillin oak complexity.
For some reason, the 2019 vintage does not show on Vivino! Well, Deep ruby with purple touches, dry with a medium++ bodied, smooth awesome rounded grippy tannins, well balanced acidty. Nose is a big blackberry dark fruit bomb, notes of green bell pepper oak leather plum cedar pepper tobacco mint cigar box, long lingering finish with a big lush jammy mouth feel but, all in restrained balance! This is Henschke after all 🤣

It’s beautiful
Rated at the beginning of the year at a tasting and here at home it gives a little more. Just a class act from start to finish. Nose is black currant and leafy herbs with a deeper savoury background. Silky and polished, hedonistic and thrilling. Big but never clumsy, stylish and agile. Think Cantona in his pomp. This is full of good things. Great wine to celebrate finishing work for a while after December craziness 4.4⭐️🎄

Deep ruby colour, garnet rim. Aromas of blackcurrant, ripe raspberries, perfume, leaf, vegetal, oak, chocolate. Palate is high acidity, medium body and alcohol, tannins are there and a bit dry but well integrated, finish is very long. This is mostly cabernet sauvignon (with some cabernet franc historically and some merlot, but less with climate change these days), so different than the typical shiraz of barossa. It's very dry, but feels ripe and concentrated.
Fruity and light Pinot
A bold, intense, muscular and delicious Cabernet still on its youthful ascent. Lovely aromatics of black currant, blackberry, cassis and dark chocolate. Full bodied yet elegant with plush mouthfeel and ripe tannic grip. Impressive balance and finesse thru its lengthy finish. Needs a long decant. Would love to revisit this in 10+ years.
This is a 2021 vintage. Beautiful crimson in color. Black current and anise on the nose. Flavors of cassis, cocoa, sandalwood and cedar.

Langtons Classified Event at Crown in Perth, September 26 2024. 2018 vintage. Pre-release. 40th anniversary vintage. 97% CS, 2% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Deep Garnet. Violet, herbs, blackberry, dark chocolate, fine tannins. Great length. This will cellar a long time and be rewarding.

So smooth, so light amazing
Vintage: 2018 I loved how Jodie at the Cellardoor described this as her "hug in a bowl" with the Cyrill's super smooth mouthfeel and gentle tannins. Single vineyard Eden Valley, 97% Cab, 2% Merlot and 1% CF. Surprising lightness on palate, light mint with earth on back palate with a long finish. It's super amazing that we had the chance to try Cyrill, Wheelwright, Mount Edelstone and Hill of Grace from this epic Barossa vintage of 2018. Thanks to Jodie and the generous hospitality of Hensc
Restrained style. Grippy, astringent. High alcohol with black fruit and tons of earth.
2018 vintage opened September 2023. Surprisingly reddish in colour but more youthful in the mouth.

2021 vintage. nose: cherry blackcurrant oak vanilla eucalyptus taste: dry high acidity medium tannins medium bodied. notes of cherry blackcurrant plum licorice and tinge of spice. medium(+) finish. tasted at the Henschke Masterclass, Decanter Singapore 2025.
Dry and fruity, strong lemon flavours. Excellent for apéro. 🇦🇺

Vintage 2010 Consumed 2019 Black fruit, oaky, chocolate on the nose. Blackcurrant, plum, oaky, chocolate, liquorice, by the mouth. Smooth texture, tannic structure, medium acidity, long complex aftertaste. Med-full bodied Great wine
Juicy CS, Capiscum, blackcurrant, oak. Good balance with a medium finish.
Leider zu warm. Dass das zum Besten Australiens gehört, steht aber auch dann ausser Frage.

Deep ruby color, dark fruit and some funky vegetal notes on the nose. On the palate, plum, dark cherry, and some odd asparagus / green pepper notes. An unusual wine - tasting blind, I would never have guessed Cabernet. Given the price and the amount of hype about this wine, I’m kind of baffled. 88 points.
2020 pre-release bottle tasting. Less expansive and sophisticated, more simple fruit forward. A hence of herbal and stemmy on the nose, as well as spirity. Cassis, blackberry, preserved dark cherry. Oaky, vanilla, smoke. Full yet austere palate, sweet fruit core. More Grass and bell peppers on the lengthy finish.
