Rhônevember. A seriously good late harvest Condrieu from a combination of botrytis-affected berries & passerillé fruit. Wild yeast fermented & aged 8m in oak w. 120g/l RS. Pale gold. Honeyed w. peach confit, apricot jam, bitter stone fruit stone notes, baked apple, peach melba, mirabelle & pineapple confit. Youthful. Sweet. Ripe, rich & concentrated w. sultana, fig, honeyed peach, stone fruit kernel & bittersweet nuances. Very rich w. m+ body, m+ acid, low alc & a creamy, rich long finish. Hea

Catching up on wines from meals in Bordeaux this week. No reviews, since I was eating with a group... Just want to remember what I had! This is my first vin de paille from Condrieu!
Steak night at G’s A singing sweet styled condrieu. Extremely floral and perfumed with honeysuckle, acacia and jasmine over fresh mango. Plush yet balanced and fresh. Excellent.

Dark gold, legs. Strong dried apricot, yellow flowers, perfume, lychee. Mildly sweet, tropical (candied pineapple, dried mango), honey, minerals. Full body, high acid, medium sweet fruit finish. Tasty, unusual!
Erg bijzonder. Dessertwijn uit Condrieu, en dan ook nog 2018: intense smaak van Perzik, Peer, Appel en Ananas. Niet mijn stijl, maar absoluut goed!
Millésime 2018. Pourtant pas très "cuilleron" dans l'esprit, celui-ci marche plutôt très bien. Ampleur et gamme aromatique aboutie sont les 2 gros points positifs.
Tasted blind. Sweet with some amount of residual sugar. Thought of Riesling right away, but the aromas were more towards tropical, pineapple, peach. Good minerals as well.. so I had to include Viognier.
Notes of red fruit, medium tannins, overall a little flatter than expected but well structured.

Medium golden yellow, on the nose peach, apricot, mango, lychee, pineapple and floral elements. On the palate more peach, apricot, mango, lychee, pineapple, some sweet spice, floral elements and some minerality. Full body, medium acidity. Being a desert wine, it's obviously sweet, but not massively. The grapes are dried on mats from October on, which brings the sweetness and concentration.
C est sucré sans être lourd avec un équilibre sur la fraîcheur et sur le fruit et une légère amertume en final 6 cl au restau, j en aurai bien bu 12 cl
Lovely dessert wine, soft aromatic aroma on the nose; sweet palate but not overtly so.
Un viognier qui, à l'unisson du dessert, nous parle d'amour. Des notes délicieuses de confiture de pêche, d’abricot et de nectarine. Le miéllé caresse le palais avec un sucre doux et riche où se mêlent l’ananas, la violette et la poire. Aucune lourdeur cependant. Une caresse tendre et légère, et l'on s'abandonne dans ses saveurs.

Excellent way to finish our Vivino dinner, this rare mature sweet Condrieu was really delicious. Rich and syrupy with great complexity and a surprising freshness probably due to the relatively low level of alcohol (8%). Notes of caramel, dried apricots, marzipan and wild flowers. Thank you Carlo for sharing and a huge kudos to Jammy Wine for guessing this wine right, that takes quite a skill !
92+ pts I don't think Cuilleron are producing this wine any more. This was also possibly the only vintage ever released. A sweet Viognier at 9% abv. Golden syrup. Rosemary and grilled thyme. Burnt orange skin. On the overly sweet side but well balanced with freshness and acidity. Drink through 2025+.
My third Yves Cuilleron wine in 3 weeks. Bonus bottle to end Monday’s Vivino London meet-up, courtesy of Carlo. 100% Viognier dessert wine at 9% ABV. Still felt very young; impressive given almost 20 years of ageing. A nose of orange peel, toffee, caramel and the subtlest of honey flavours. Only med acidity and perhaps too much sweetness for some on the palate, but I loved the intensity and concentration of this wine. Thanks Carlo for sharing 🙏🍷
Goûté à la foire d'Ampuis. Un vin doux très agréable, abricot, pêche
Joli Condrieu liquoreux, sur le thé et le raisin de Corinthe, belle liqueur, avec une finale un peu végétale qui l'allège.
Again, Cuilleron is quite disappointing when compared to his stuff of 5/10 years ago. Not the same wine, not the same house
On est proche du sirop. Ca manque de fraîcheur mais ça reste intéressant à goûter
