Stunning! Tasted the 1997 vintage next to a Chateau d’Yquem 1988. I actually preferred this one as it was having the same profile but a brightness that surprised me and really stood out. The whole table was speechless about this one.

GRAPE BUSTERS 🍇 ™️ SUMMIT III (COLOGNE JUNE '24) Second time we had this Vouvray together. Same vintage, same company but drinking it 2 years later. Wine developed in color and aromas. Deep golden to intense amber color. Complex nose of ripe and candied fruit. Citrus, lemon curd and lemon zest, tangerine, yellow raisins, dried mango, honey, vanilla and butter. Boytritis touch. Sweetness hits the palate and is so balanced with med+ acidity. Full-bodied and a juicy and cream texture. —>

Stunning Chenin Blanc. Firing on all cylinders. Tons of minerally acid under ripe apricot, pear, and golden apple. Has tons of life left too.

A superb Vouvray from my favourite and one of Chenin Blanc’s greatest producers. Mouthwatering aroma-flavours of raw honey, ripe lemon, beeswax, pineapple. On centre stage is its layered viscous and mineral texture with wet stones and lime oil. Off dry balanced by juicy acidity. Hard to put down my glass. What a great way to start lunch. Yum yum.

It was waving a Loire Chenin flag Baked apples, honey, sweet chamomile, quince Low alcohol (12%), very high acidity Perfect balance between sweetness and acidity Still so fresh and alive after 24 years WOTN 2 for me Gorgeous!

95/100. Intense persimmon, canned crushed pineapple, flower, and honey on the nose. On the palate, persimmon, apricot, pineapple, flower with some very nice minerality and excellent acidity. Very nice, well-balanced sweetness with a lingering finish.

Reve Birmingham AL. Beautiful! Mango, dark, ripe peaches, honey, bloody orange. Watermelon. Has body and sweetness to pair perfectly with steak tartar.

Phenomenal white wine with an intense lime base, honeyed tones. nuanced wet stone, and refreshing acidity. Excellent length and balance. A real treat.

Just as good as the Clos du Bourg Moelleux - half bottle drinking well at 28 years. Apple, apricot, honey, pineapple, quince. Still plenty of acidity

Such a beautiful wine. On the nose, sweet ripe berries, vanilla and honey. In the mouth, soft, voluptuous, sweet of vanilla, honey, hint of chocolate and sweet berries. Great soft finish!

4.3. 2003. As usual a WINNER from Huet. Quince, apricot, dried mango, ripe yellow apples, ginger, and light honey. Soft, sweet, crisp, clean, acidic - it has it all in perfect balance.

Amber colour. Wax, rambutan, lychee, lime and walnut nose. Fantastic palate following the nose with an incredible acidity and sugar balance and concentration. Could probably last forever.

Great semi-dry Chenin Blanc from Vouvray. honey ginger beeswax truffle earthy chalk apple lime pineapple. Medium+ acidity, medium+ body, medium+ finish. Still too young. 2023-2040 4.3+

Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux 2002 is a wonderfully aged Chenin Blanc that is well-balanced and complex that still has the crispness of white from the region. Hovering the nose over the wine presents beeswax, ripe apple, apricot, ripe peach, gooseberry, lemon zest, granite, and wet stone, which also shines on the palate. This white wine pairs exceptionally with crunchy crackers with jamon iberco, as its acidity refreshes the palate while the flavors bring out the nuttiness in the charcut

This was a very nice medium sweet Chenin Blanc! Deep gold colour with pronounced intensity on the nose. Notes of honey, dried fruit, peaches in syrup, honeysuckle and even some earthy tones of mushroom. Beautiful finish and would recommend to anyone.

Over to the sweet stuff! And no youngster among the last ones. Surprisingly pale colour, compared to the 1990 it is like a white burgundy compared to aged sauternes.. Really interesting nose, very refined, waxy, earthy, mushroom. On the palate just very tasty and stunningly fresh! Surprisingly dry, crisp delicious tropicsl fruit, floral honey, even an earthy mushroom. Great.

JdF#40🇫🇷 INCREDIBLE!!! This 2009 moelleux from Huet is ….. 🏹🥊🤸🏿‍♂️🥇🏆 It’s brown/gold in the glass. Aromas of creamy yellow fruits. It taste like a big apricot compote, hint of toast & toffee. It’s well balanced between the acidity and the richness. It’s thick, voluptuous and I couldn’t put the glass down. I was the driver so I needed to spit but I drank it all. Couldn’t get rid of it. I don’t give 4.6🌟 easily but this one is all that. WOW 🤩 RP95 A big cheers from the Domaine Huet 🥂🎉

My first Vouvray!! Who knew it’s so good? Reminiscent of delicious Sauternes. This is a smooth golden, off dry wine, with flavors of peach syrup, honeysuckle, passion fruit, canned peaches, and HEAVEN.

From the @[1|47623479|Blind Faith] line up, I loved this and it came second for me in the older wines. It’s so fresh with green apple and quince but tells a little tale of age with hints of mushroom. Compared to the tokay and Sauternes it barely felt sweet but the honey is there. It struggled a bit in the line up but I tasted it again after a 30 min break and it is beautiful.

@[1|47623479|Blind Faith] sticky spectacular catch-up. Deep gold. Pronounced caramel, toffee apple, vanilla, straw. Med-sweet, high acidity, med alc, med+ body, pronounced flavours of toffee apples, cider and soft caramel with a beautiful lightness of touch and elegance. Somewhat understated alongside the other sweeter, richer, more botrytised wines but so beautiful. Only the colour gives its age away - still feels so fresh.

I think this is my new go-to sweet wine. It was seriously amazing with bright acidity and a ice sweetness without being overpowering like a Sauternes. It can match well with different foods especially spicy ones. Really good and well made wine!

First time trying the benchmark Vouvray sweet, was afraid that this might be corked after reading issues about their corks but this was a pristine bottle. Corn-yellow colour, smelled of Granny Smith apples. Fresh as a daisy, elegant and rich mouthfeel but not as heavy as a Sauternes. There is an incredible acidity drives at the palate, lending itself to a lovely persistent finish. Remarkably youthful and could probably live forever.

Tasting. Not a sweet wine drinker but this arrested me. Drank at cellar temperature already tremendously balanced and complex. Not overly sweet with that Chenin acid. Honeyed golden apple, floral and nutty finish. Very mineral as well.

Really beautiful. A complex nose with scents of sweet pineapple, soil tones, honeycomb, and a touch of tangerine. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite mineral-driven, with a good core of fruit, fine focus and a long finish. Drunk with Castella Sponge Cake

4.3 I think this is not dessert wine...Semi Sweet Chenin Blanc though.This is strict domaine that consider what to produce after harvest.They esteem climate more.2003 is one of the greatest vintage to them. So they could release every series. Medium to Deep Gold. Citrus,Honey,Nectarine,Nuts,Flowers,Smoke. Full Bodied.Rich and sweet,crisp on the rim.Structured and has got comlexity…and beautiful floral long finish echoing in a nuance of smokiness. Great wine !

Domaine Huet - Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux, vintage 2009. Amazing nose: petroleum, apple, honey melon. Palate: ripe yellow apple, petroleum, melon, ripe pear, peach, apricot, crushed stone, minerals. The age has done wonders to this bottle. With its 12,5% alc I get slight traits of an Auslese-Riesling & Sauternes. A beautifully balanced sweetness. Dessert wine, but may still be the best Vouvray I´ve ever had. Fantastic! 94p

Tasted at the Domaine alongside the 2022 which we loved, but loved this even more - a great job of balancing all the elements in a hot vintage. 13%abv (1 more than the '22), 60g/l residual sugar (9 more than the '22, so potentially almost 17%abv). However, alongside all the power classic Chenin acidity provides an electric tension holding everything together. Grapefruit, juicy ripe peach, baked apple, passion fruit, honey-roast pineapple. A big wine! Complex, thought provoking and generally speaking off the usual flavor map. Medium sweet, with balanced acidity, high intensity, long finish. Fresh apricot, orange marmalade, tangerine, slate, white pepper, a hint of ginger, pecan, marzipan, firm minerality that lingers. Still many many years left in this, but in its peak window. Extra points for originality.

Side-by-side w 05 Touchais - a casual Sunday comparison. Pear pulp. Key lime pie. Powdered pineapple. Battenburg. Candle wax. Acid ricocheting. Streaky. Hauntingly long. No temptation to open my others. Seems lightweight next to Touchais, but would no doubt seem heavyweight next to a Sec.

My 9 year Vivino anniversary 🎉🥳 It was great to enjoy a bottle of this Huet Le Mont Moelleux 2005 at home yesterday evening following a sample from @[1|47623479|Blind Faith] at the start of the year. It is just as good as my memory of it. Cork all but soaked through. Sweet fruit, sour acidity, savoury complexity, such a pleasure to drink this now. Apple, pear, quince, straw. It tastes honeyed and spicy, a bit of botrytis showing as bitter orange and ginger. Wine geek heaven 😊

Quince, peaches and apricots to the fore, and some supporting citrus acidity that doesn't quite balance. I would hope this will resolve harmoniously in future years.

This Loire Chenin Blanc is clean and less sweeter compared with Sautéed. Aromas include apricot, honey, apple, some minerals and earthy. It tasted richer at room temperature than refrigerated. It’s my first exposure to Chenin Blanc and couldn’t wait for its maturity. Opened bottle on 9/28/2022.

Grape Busters 🍇 ™️ Summit Aachen 17 - 18.06.2022 Vouvray molleux 2009. This Loire appellation is almost exclusively dedicated to Chenin Blanc. 12.5% Deepest gold colour. In the nose apple compote, pear, orange cest. At the palate apple, honey, lemon, candied fruit, elderberry flowering. Perfect acidic backbone to match the sweetness. Long candy finish. Inaugural San Shu Gong Chao Yue at New Bahru with Sean etc Lots and lots of wet stone minerality, slight apricot, yellow flowers and peach skins. Can really taste the Chenin despite it being a semi sweet wine - really not that sweet actually.

Librije N°6: De rekening deed al pijn genoeg, dus chateau d’yquem blijft even uit vanavond. Als alternatief een mooie Vourvray Moelleux gedronken, toch nog mijn Chenin Blanc! Fijne balans tussen zoet en zuur, naadloos passend bij het dessert. Citrus, honing, gekarameliseerde appel en abrikoos. Wat tropisch fruit. Gewoon heel erg fijn.

On the nose, cognac. Yes. But tasting... It was so sweet, sooo sweet, sweetness dominated everything related to the taste and notes. I just couldn't handle it. Is it the age intensifying the sweetness? The solution found was to spritz it. 2/3 of water and healthy amount of ice cubes. That opens up the taste! Astonishingly so well that, you cannot let it go. That becomes a vermouth lemonade with a splash of Jack Daniels.

Aan de Zweth wijn 5️⃣ zoet. Het dessert van aardbei is vooral fris, het curryijs vooral pittig. De wijn is prima voor de aardbeien, maar te licht voor het curryijs.

Slightly sweet. Limey. Great acidity. Heney. Grilled pinapple. Dusty. Sweet and sour. Will go well with a chevon goats cheese.

Honey, ripe red apple juice and nutty. Overall a good dessert wine, complex and full bodied finish, not as sweet as expected which might go well with some.

Raisins, herbs, honey, blooming flowers. Another great balanced “sweet story”, which is not my story 🤣🤷‍♀️.
