Amber coloured. Light caramel nose. Thick syrupy dessert style, light Xmas cake, well balanced sweetness. From their third vineyard Clos de Bourg.

An incredible experience with a dessert wine. Famed producer of chenin. Has sec and demi sec, sweeter end has Moelleux with 65 gms residual, made in good years. Moelleux means marrow, Clos de Burg is the best plot, this wine has fruits, preserves, nuttiness, honey, herbs, and vegetal elements. The acidity cuts sugar to size, it feels light footed, it isn't heavy like sauternes can be. Still fresh, very enticing. Best with aged cheese.

Absolutely outstanding! Yellow apple, chestnut, honey, almond, burnt butter. Full bodied, sweet, long finish. Delicious.

Dessert, sweet and smells good: mold, honey, sweet apricots
96/100. Persimmon, ripe pear, cinnamon apple, honeycomb, acacia, and hints of coffee and vanilla make up a complex bouquet. On the palate, ripe pear and apple and honey with some spice with perfect acidity and sweetness and a lingering finish.
Enjoyed in magnum. Great example of a well ageing wine this. A touch of oily caramel underpinned by vibrant acidity, it shows honeycomb and jam on the middle palate and a lovely texture and lengthy finish.
Why is Dom Huet so under-appreciated? Why do you have to sell a Rolex to buy a single bottle of Rousseau and yet I can grab this wonderful nectar at auction for £33? Waxy and appley with sweet chutney and ginger, and all but gloop free (Sauternes ™️). A perfect cheese wine. Maybe a little young.
Honey and apricots. Sweet on the attack, but very clean and without viscosity. Round and balanced.

Chenin blanc de Loira, espectacular y diferente. Color: amarillo dorado brillante. En nariz aparece el melocotón, y las flores blancas. Grandísimo aroma, que en boca explota en maravillas dulces, complejo, con notas de naranja que conjugan el dulce sin empalagar en algo diferente, mágico, maravilloso. Lo hemos catado a ciegas, y de 5 ninguno hemos acertado. Gran dulce que rompe los registros mentales.
Intense yellow colour. On the nose pungent with apples, honey and citrus. On the palate medium bodied, sweet and balanced with a lingering finish.

A lovely fruity nose with a full body that is complex & lusciously sweet with a long aftertaste. It stood up to a fudge pie & two nights later went well with a lemon cake.
Just as good as the 2018 vintage but has developed more complexity - this is a great wine drinking well at 15 years, but still has a long way life left in it. Honey, apricot, melon, pineapple, ginger. Great balance between fruit and acidity.
Very rich-almost syrupy after this long. We bought this at the end of January, 2016, but just opened it today. It is delicious, but as another reviewer noted, it’s more like a dessert wine at this point. It has a honeyed texture and a pear/apricot flavor that is pretty sweet. There is a nice tang of apple at the end that stays with you.

Now we are talking. One of the greatest sweet wine of the world. To think this is a real baby at 20 years is incredible. Also, I remember vividly being in France in 2003 and to produce something like this with such balance in that year is incredible. Chapeau. Outrageous chenin. Smells of apple pie with cinnamon. The nose develops into quince, honey comb, vanilla, and an almost fennelly waxy vegetal greeness. Spicy honeyed and rich and opulent while still lively fresh and balanced. One of the best sweet wines ive ever had. 96
Sorry, no detailed notes, but this was a stunning, sweet Chenin-based wine that could be enjoyed with a meal, with a light dessert, or on its own (which is how we drank it). My brother accidentally opened it not knowing it was sweet, and so we had to drink it up at the end of the night. Nice excuse to pop a bottle! Lots of rich stone and apple with notes of honey and saffron.
Mind bogglingly intense nose of botrytis, baked apples, apricots and honeycomb. Then a fresh after-note of melon, citrus, crushed herbs and minerals and just the slightest hint of tokaji-like acetone. On the palate it is sweet and lightly bitter and Sauternes-like fatty. Really amazing. 95-97p.
Very nice sweet Chenin from Huet, at Paulée d’Anjou, we visited the domaine a few days later. One of the early adopters of biodynamics. This is from raisinated grapes hand-picked in passes from a walled 6ha vineyard, thin stony clay limestone over deep limestone. Medium gold. Dried pear, quince paste, honeycomb, candied orange zest and ginger. Full bodied, sweetness balanced by high acidity, 12% alcohol. Lighter than Sauternes, ~60g/l RS.
Holy crap, I didn't see this coming. Very clear, straw color. Crisp mildly sweet wine, with plenty of complexity. mostly honey, green grapes, pear, and golden raisins. Fantastic wine. Easy drinker, not overly sweet, but I also had it quite young. Deeper flavors than most Rieslings, and flavor profile is sauternes-esque, but less of everything except acid. Overall, yum.
The fifth and final wine during our pairing dinner in Charleston, and the surprise of the night—I thought this sweet dessert wine was fantastic. Honey and candy apple notes with a hint of raisin. Deep yellow on the glass, medium intensity nose that shows melon, honey and botrytis characteristics. On the palate, more melon, honey, orange peel and hints of minerals and stone. Has good mouth feel. Sweet and and long finish. Very good Demi-sec chenin Blanc.

Daughter's 18th Birthday #5 Un grand chenin moelleux, avec une tarte tatin pour finir cette belle soiree. Robe cuivrée Nez élégant coing poire abricots secs. En bouche un grand équilibre (on se rapproche du nieveau d ela grande cuvée constance),un vin très serein, jamais lourd malgré le sucre résiduel. Je pense qu un carafage aurait peut etre été judicieux pour le l aisser s exprimer encore plus.

Honey, apricots. Clean and almost an ice wine smell in its linearity. Light mouthfeel with honied nuts and depth of complexity. Candied apricot. Good acidity to balance the sugar. Really smooth.
Amber. Dried apricot, walnut, orange zest, tropical (dried mango, dried papaya). Sweet, caramel, smoke, butterscotch. Full body, medium-high acid, long dried fruit finish. Delicious, nuanced.
Our 4th bottle contribution to dinner last night. Props to Simon for calling Chenin on this. Interestingly we had the same vintage 2015 Le Mont just 2weeks ago at Robuchon Au Dome in Macau. Same vintage, same maker, different plot. Sweet honey and apricot, some candied pineapple, high acidity. We brought this as a sweet ending to pair with Wei’s homemade Pineapple 🍍 tarts~ 😋

17 Bouchon court imbibé à 40%, niveau à 2cm. Robe or cuivrée. Nez acidulé et intense de bergamote, abricot, coing. Attaque sapide, fraîche, minérale, sur les fruits jaunes, la bergamote. Grande fraîcheur qui porte le vin tout du long. Grande buvabilité. Très longue finale sur la bergamote, puis le caramel. Manque un peu de liqueur (environ 80g). Pas très complexe, mais d’un équilibre et d’une longueur incroyable. À boire.
First bottle of the case, mold was not a good sign when the foil was removed, luckily it was just 20% of the cork, the wine was not affected. The colour was beautiful Amber, honey, apricot, balanced sweetness, in a nice drinking window now. Cheers.
