Beautiful vintage dessert wine

Robe tuilee. Nez sur le cèdre, la réglisse, le pain d’épice, le café, le tofee, le caramel, le baba au rhum, la prune à l’alcool, le rancio, l’amande, la noix fraîche et des petites notes tournées sur le vomi d’enfant. (Pardon pour le catalogue, mais c’est un abrégé !) Bouche sur le fruit blet et surmûri, le nougat et l’alcool de prune, la vanille et la pomme blette, la liqueur de café et le caramel, le nougat et le pruneau confit... Juste infini et sans une once de lourdeur. Divin… :)

Mahognibrun farve med tydelig alder. Duften er fuld af svedsker, rosiner, kardemomme og alskens julekrydderier. Smagen følger op med god fylde og masser af tørret frugt og sødme, der afsluttes i en dejlig lang eftersmag. Fantastisk glas og fuldt på højde med de bedste Tawny ports 👌👏

Un nez très intense et une jolie coloration ambrée. Des arômes prononcés, madérisés. Arômes de moût de raisin, miel, coing, de pain grillé, légèrement sur le café. Un régal.

Single vintage, oxidative style with a year in bonbonne. Tawny and slightly cloudy. Treacle, coffee and caramel. Delicious 😋

36 year-old fortified sweet red wine. Only that description is already brilliant! Spent the first year in glass demijohns and then subsequent decencies in oak. The result is so surpising. First smell reminded me immediately of Madeira wines (and I am a big fan of Madeiras). Just made me realize they aren’t far off in the process of making, just crazy. Bold flavours of walnuts, christmas spices, maraschino cherry. Long finish. Wow!

Robe d’intensité moyenne, couleur ambrée. Le nez est intense sur les fruits à l’eau de vie, kirsch, caramel. Le chocolat, la figue. En bouche c’est liquoreux, alcooleux, à l’acidité moyenne et aux tanins moyens. Le corps est puissant et la finale longue. Excellent

Belle robe tuilée, nez de rancio élégant, bouche complexe de fruits confiturés kirsch pruneaux, caramel.

Tabac, café, 1 peu de pruneau. C encore d'une fraîcheur hallucinante. Gros coup de cœur 😍

Probably not the exact wine - tasted at minibar; 37 years in barrel and served from glass reactive chamber. Quite unusual!

Like drinking fig jam. Deep and complex with a chewy but not overwhelming sweetness.

Spændende vin, med lidt mindre sødme end jeg havde forventet. Men det er dog (naturligvis) en sød vin.

ドライフルーツや少しカビたような乾いた香り。酸味も香りに感じる チョコレートっぽさもありながら、あんずやイチジクの香りもするような。 甘みが強いがトロッとした口の中に残る甘みではなく、さっぱりとしている。 旨味がグッと詰まっている。

Really tasty, and interesting. Maraschino cherries, malaise, dried plum, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, brown sugar spice, and oak. For port fans you will love this, plus it's from 1985!!!

very nice example of VDN wine that has aged in glass bulbs (bobonnes) exposed in the sun. Tastes a bit like madeira or porto with flavors like walnut. wonderfull balance and the wine still has potential left.

ルーション地区モーリのVDN赤。なかなかのビンテージで、紹興酒そっくりで、なかなかブラインドで判別できないのではと思った。意識した中で初めて酒精強化ワインを飲んだが、イメージとして、ババロアのようなマリアージュを楽しむものだと思った。スポンジケーキやマドレーヌと飲んで、そういうスポンジとの相性はとても良かった。ビンテージは香りも楽しいので、たまに酒精強化ワインを楽しんでいきたい。

Maury is tasty, I've seen this producer around but don't think I've had it before. Prunes, dates chocolate, yeeeha!

J’aime beaucoup les vintages, et cela vaut pour tous les vins mutés ou vins doux naturels Non pas qu’ils soient toujours meilleurs que les assemblages mais ils conservent en eux une vraie singularité.... Ce 85 nous emmène sur un très bel équilibre tout en subtilité: moka, figue séchée, touche oxydative sur la noix, pain d’épices et finale sur la noisette grillée..... Sur un beau plateau de pâtes persillés (roquefort, lou perac, bleu des causses, fourme d'ambert, bleu de savoie) un superbe Maury millésimé 1985. Une belle complexité sur le moka, la figue, la noix, le pain d'épice. Une bouche assez puissante et une finale bien équilibré avec une belle acidité. Le sucre est bien intégré. Une très belle bouteille et un accord mets vins des plus intéressants. Bonne journée à tous

90% Grenache Noir and 10% Carrignan and others. Aged in glass demijohns in the sun for a year and then aged in foudres. Pours the color of coagulated blood. Has an intensely nutty aroma, hazelnut, cocoa, dried figs, and raisins with brown sugar. Then some spices come through: cinnamon, Chinese 5 spice, clove, and nutmeg. Starts to open up more with dried cherries and lots of walnut. Flavor is of cherries, fig, raisins, brown sugar, candied orange, and orange zest. Finishes with a refreshing acid

落ち着いた茶褐色 レーズン、プルーン、カシス、プラム、オレンジなどのドライフルーツの凝縮に、メープルシロップ。ほのかなクルミと、香ばしくまろやかに落ち着きつつも深みのある樽香。 極めて細やかなタンニン。 丸く優しい酸味。 熟成した香りにふわっと包まれるが、意外と余韻はあっさりしている。

Unique dessert wine. Incredibly rich and still holding strong 30 years later.

More like a dessert wine. Very rich and sweet. Not bad but better as a single glass than multiple.

Certainly very different. Almost Christmas in a glass. Could be wonderful if this is your thing, but it is not mine...I will stick to Sauternes.
