Ugh so good. Ruby red, some funk on the nose and some sediment. Earthy, cherry and red fruit, pepper. So good. Very drinkable.

Mild deep cherry red, clean, clear, bright, nice tears. Spicy, red fruit, cranberry, raspberry, cherry, chocolate, pepper, super aromatic, eucalyptus, splendid nose. Super mouth, great entrance, acidity, great monsatrell, perfectly balanced, medium/long suite. Splendid!!

Color like gamay. Ruby and translucent. Nose is Smokey and vanilla and a dark fruit. Palette has clove and black currant. Really cool wine for the money. Picked in stl.

3,8 stars. Blind tasted, this was impossible to guess as Monastrell. It felt so much more Galicia or Asturias. Lovely surprise! Ponce is a great maker of Bobal from Manchuela. Not sure if he moves Monastrell grapes from Jumilla or vinifies locally. Perfumed slightly green liquorice on the nose with dark fresh berries, dark tea spices & carbonic hints. Mid body, carbonic mouthfeel, smooth mature almost non-existent tannins. Unusual yet very tasty wine!

Plum and blackberry notes hit the palate closely followed by tannins and a hint of nutmeg and licorice. The finish brings a background of a fine leather bound book.

Whilst I have tasted many Spanish wines this is the first time that I have drunk a Monastriel and this one at least is delightful- lots of fruit and a great bold taste

Wat schrijf je op drie dagen nadat je de wijn gedronken hebt en je al met de lege fles bij de glasbak staat. Er staat me bij dat we 'm bij het avondeten hebben gedronken en dat we er blij van werden.

This 100% monastrell was ranking highly in the vivino and parker scorecards. Ordered via vivino, great depth and length, great balance between berries and herbs in the nose. Really happy with 5 remaining bottles ;-)

Like a top middleweight contender, I would propose that Spanish Monastrells value per $ as a varietal: blueberry , black currant, oak and earthy notes for $12 - a great picnic wine!

Never tried the style of wine before. Unripe free off the news, light in appearance, dry and acidic with plum and unripe fruit taste. Sharp initially, but lasted a while on the tongue. An interesting style read that paired Phan fantastic with meat and game. I would definitely try again.

88 fresh, juicy, vibrant, great core of acidity. Lots of black raspberry, red raspberry, pomegranate, then veers into dark earthier beefier territory.

I need to drink more monastrell. It's marvelous, and this is only my second one. A bit jammy on the nose with subtle smoke. Light and balanced on the palate.

Nose of cherry, wild strawberry, distinct minerality. Taste of cherry, raspberry, mellow oak, with a pepper /sweet tobacco thing going on. Really nice acid with easy, integrated tannins.

Nice Monastrell (Mouvedre) enjoyed at Casa La Pastina on Rua Oscar Freire, São Paulo. Low intervention winemaking philosophy without excessive oak. Not too heavy. Paired well with breaded veal cutlets.

Budget Spanish is very reliable in that it is enjoyable at a wide range of prices, but excellence seems more often an outlier than a constant at this price point, black cherry and oak with some maraschino Cherry were most present to me here

I bought this one at Calvert Woodley on sale for $12.79. Just had this same wine back in July. Very similar notes of blackberry, cranberry, tobacco, dark chocolate and black currant. I didn’t like it quite as much this time, but not a bad wine. Great value. Cheers!

2022. Compagme des vins surnaturels mystery wine challenge. Got this glass for comparison. Pretty good: floral, chocolate, high acidity, medium tannin. Short abrupt alcohol finish.

Very nice Monastrell with juicy body, notes of raspberry and black currant and high tannins in the finish. You can feel it’s very well aged and balanced wine with more intense oak aroma (not my favorite).

Funk nose, rubber, dark fruit. Body is lighter with hints of blackcherries, black berries, tobacco leaves, and black pepper. Short finish.

Acidity medium, medium/light body. Tannic in the finishing with taste of ripe stuff. Good but nothing incredible. However: Parker 93.

Good value 100% Monastrell from Castilla. A bit strange nose of red gooseberries and black cherries, feels very ripe, very pleasant to drink, med body, sweet aftertaste, super easy going wine.

Beautiful Monastrell from Manchuela, obviously made with stems; very fresh, juicy and vibrant; herbaceous notes with strawberry, dark plum and dark cherry. Medium bodied, medium acidity, medium + tannin. Just delicious, a bargain.

Had to laugh when I saw I was ranked number one in Ireland here on Vivino! Am I THAT much of a lush? LOL! 🤣🇮🇪 I enjoyed this Monastrell. Loads of ripe fruit on this dark pour. Notes of blackberry, macerated strawberry and oak enhanced by medium+ body and tannins. Medium acidity gave balance. Well done - but I admit I’m partial to Monastrell. 3.7🌟

Good quality level for this price. The wine is darkpurple and I expected warm fruit. Pleasantly enough the wine is fresh and has a good level of freshness Med acidity Red fruit combined with interesting terroir and leather

Simple but very readable label art. Decent nose, extremely and dominant metallic. Good acidity on the palate - especially on the back of the mouth, fast but persistent tannins, dominant berries and metallic, some black currant, some red berries, bitter and savory end, good aftertaste - long lasting.

A bit sharp and bitter in the beginning, gets smoother and enjoyable later. Minerality, thyme, cherry make up the complex nose. Soft tannins, pleasant acidity, medium body, nicely structured and very refreshing!

do not drink cold! this girl is meant to be room temp table wine. tasted like soap and swiss cheese, and more tannic when cold. after she opened up at room temp and now she’s acidic with notes of prune and blackberry.

最初に赤系ベリーの香り、追ってプルーン 、 そのコンポート 、 ほのかな樽香、 味わいは酸の効いたプルーン そしてアフターにキシキシした樽感があります。ただしグラスを進めるにつれキシキシ感は次第にやわらかくなりました。温度を上げると酸もやわらかくなり、味わいのバランスが良くなりました。今のところ値段相応に感じます。 ２日目 カシスの香りも入ってきて、温度が上がってくるとより顕著になります。豊かな果実味のあとに酸味、渋み、樽感の三重奏がアフターを締めくくってくれます。 3日目 香りにはカカオ的なものも参入し、よりエレガントに! 4日目 果実味、渋み、酸、樽感のバランスは日毎によくなり、右肩上がりに美味しくなっていった感があります。 味わいがクロス・ロヘンと似通ってると思いました。

濃いめ イチゴジャムのような強い香りの中に、表現しにくい独特の香り しっかりとしていて、なかなかよい

ヤオコーで600円くらい。 ライト〜ミディアム。冷やして飲む方が美味しいと思う。 好みではない。
