Notes of honey, raisin, dried cranberry, and a hint of coffee on the palate. It has a long, mild finish. Quite enjoyable (in small quantities).

Great to have with dessert (berry cobbler). Tasted like root beer/caramel. This is a rare bottle even in Italy. The winemaker makes very little when they do. Not a red wine.

Complex yet easy to drink. Bravo!

Lovely aromatic nose of clover honey, vanilla and a bit of spice. Medium level acidity which provides good balance to the sweetness. However, overall I was a bit disappointed by this Vin Santo - I've been very impressed by the offerings from Zenato and Coltibuono - and in comparison this was quite light and one-dimensional. That being said at around $30 (in a private wine store) making it probably one of the most reasonably priced Vin Santos I've seen.

Roasted sunflower ceeds, oil&dried fruits in the nose. Sweet stonefruits on the palate. Balance is towards accidity, which beats enough full body. Too much accidity&not enough sugar for me. 3,7. What would happen to it later, I wonder... Must become better.

The final Il Poggione offering from Saturday night was the only dessert wine available. I'm coming around to some of the more complex sweet wines, like Sauternes, but this was not it. Lots of honey and stone fruit, maybe some nuttiness, but what I'd call boring sweet vs. complex sweet. Not for me!
