Tasted like a pure rose!

Amazing experience. 53 year old wine! Medium garnet color, aromas of light cherry, raisin, prunes and leather. Still bold on the palate with a very smooth palate. Round tannins. 👌

An old bottle and a very overdue review - I drank this over a year ago and was looking at opinions of the 2015 (which I’ve just bought) and realised I hadn’t posted for some reason. Not many words needed here - fully alive, fully developed and fully delicious. Figgy & herbal. Fruit still going, elegant and ethereal. What a wine 🍷 looking forward to the 2015 but maybe I should wait another 40 years or so? Na, I’ll be dead by then.

I said a little prayer before I opened the bottle. You never know what to expect when you pull the cork of an old vintage. The cork was 90% soaked. The minute I removed the last broken cork, I was welcomed by the cinnamon and plum nose. Dry prune and sweet scent. The wine is at its peak. Silky and soft. Wow wow wow. This bottle has been in our cellar for years and I intend to fully enjoy it!

Amazing evolution. There's a herbal edge to the evolution, but still fresh and vibrant. On the palate it has some liquorice and dark stewed plums. Delicious. A privilege

Well balanced with a very soft and silky feel thought out the mouth. Ash and blue cheese flavors on the back end with coffee and Carmel on the front end.

Devine! The best year by the way! The wine has a exquisite Amarone tasting, different from regular Amarone because probably of its 33y. Amazing but not for amateurs.

Foi um 5* mas estava no limite da evolução. Sabor ainda bem preservado e rico. O aroma me intrigou. Era mais de um vinho do Porto que um vinho tinto seco. Notas relevantes de café, anis, tabaco e groselha. Corpo mediano e persistência mediana. Os taninos foram 99% queimado na sua preservação e a acidez na medida.

Excellent wine.Has survived all these years. Nice taste of bing cherries on the palate. Still a bit of remaining Acidity and long finish. Goes well with more spicy dishes like a good curry. Very smooth on the palate. Lighter body. Slightly past its prime.

Wao, old corvina vintage; deep ruby hue and amberish around the rim very viscous. Floral and red dried fruits (raisins, dates) with earthy and leathery notes. On palate very smooth and well balanced with excellent spicy lingering finish. Simply spectacular. Great with shellfish.

Absolutely delicious wine. Wine of my year to finaly celebrate born of my daughter. Intensive aroma of dried plums, leather, liquorice folowed by dry herb tones. The palate is well structured with fruity tones of plum jam, liquorice and walnuts. Still fresh and with typical sweet tanins. Long lasting aftertaste.

Sherry type to the nose with a sweet taste to the fruit although it's bone dry. Still plenty acid and tannins so this will last a bit longer.

Initial, middle and back palates were more clearly defined than any wine I've ever had in my life. Mile long finish from this inky purple/red colored wine. Mouthfeel was leathery smooth. Outstanding.

Bertani Recioto della Valpolicella 1981. . . Decanted for about an hour to reduce sediment. . . Aroma of honey was strong at the beginning with nuts, sherry, pepper, licorice and hint of vine stem. After all licorice aroma became dominant. Darkberries, licorice and sherry palate. Wasn’t too sweet. Proper acidity. Well tamed tannin. Needs at least 90 minutes to open up, and longer is preferable. Royal purple color with maple syrup and indigo on the nose. Port-like density. Raisin, plum, dark chocolate and happiness up front. Smooth and silky on the finish with hints of anise and dried apricots. Simply amazing.

Beautifully aged, with hints of cheese and a nostalgic mustiness on the nose, dried raisins, plums, tobacco and leather with a restrained sweetness that is more like a sherry than an Amarone. Was meant to be a dessert wine but has evolved into a delicious main course.

Dark ruby colour with some orange bricking on the meniscus. On the nose raisins, dried currants, cherries, tar and minerals. On the palate medium plus bodied with velvety tannins, balanced acidity and a long dried sweet fruit finish.

50 years old Recioto and in great shape! A sweet version of Amarone. Corvina and Rondinella varietals used and dried in the same fashion as Amarone. Bottle and cork were in excellent condition. Classic Amarone flavours, but slightly sweeter with raisins, plums and Port wine-ish notes. Aged gracefully. Could easily have been cellared longer. Keep Calm - You're Only 50! Beautiful experience!

Great wine. Surprisingly "young" after 51 years. 5. Time I tase it. All approved. Like a very good burgundy without stable....

Wyczuwalna zmiana z wiekiem. W smaku dominuje maggi, suszone grzyby, niewiele owoców. W pionowej degustacji 2010, 1975, 1967, 1964 nie wygrywa, choć to wciąż wino bardzo dobre.

Recently had this stunning wine...it has aged so beautifully. Still some nice dark fruit, slight oak and some nice mustiness to it. Over all beautiful wine.

What an experience. This one was still powerful!! Fruit, but of course with maturity tones. Cherries, dried fruit, vanilla, chocolate. Complex and elegant!!

Colore rosso intenso, con sfumature granato. Spiccano al naso le note tipiche di prugna, di ciliegia e di marasca alle quali segue una grande varietà di toni: di frutta secca, foglia di thè, liquirizia e spezie. Si apre in bocca con tutti i frutti a bacca rossa che si ripetono per lunghezza, addolciti da note di vaniglia su di una stoffa morbida e spessa, in perfetto equilibrio con acidità e note tanniche.

30лет,наконец то мы его открыли. Бертани придумал Амароне и достойно его представляет. В аромате ярко выражены сухофрукты, слива. Во вкусе восточные специи и кожа. Очень большой потенциал, можно ещё лет 15-20 хранить.

Wahnsinnig spannend. Hatte bis jetzt relativ wenig Amarone und noch nie solch einen gereiften. In der Nase finden sich daher überreifen Aromen von Wallnuss und Mandel wieder, unten drunter Rosinen und auch Anklänge von karamellisierten roten Zwiebeln, Röstkaffee, am Gaumen dicht, komplex, vollmundig aber nicht zu viel Tannin. Für das Alter hat er auch noch eine angenehme frische Säure, die den ganzen Wein gut ergänzt und dazu beiträgt, dass er noch genießbar ist. Das Finish hinterlässt Eindruck.

Правильная кислотность, умело прячет сахар, вино в балансе, очень округлое, с долгим ягодным послевкусием. 100% корвина. Возраст сделал его элегантным. Круто сделано. 4.6

Kirsebær, litt aldringspreg mot oksidert som blir borte ved lufting av vinen, svisker,rosiner og honning på duft. I smaken finner jeg kirsebærene, sviskene, rosinene og honningen. Den har noe tannin, og bra lengde på ettersmaken.n05/02/14

Невероятное речото, возраст превратил его в шелковую, сухофруктовую эссенцию. Инжир, чернослив,изюм, кожа, сироп солодки, шоколад. Нет никакой алкогольной агрессивности, только податливость и обольщение.

We close New Year's Eve with this old Amarone from 1967. Exciting. is the wine still good? after opening carefully in the glass and from the glass came a strong sherry air ???? This one went away fairly quickly. in the taste banana, raisins, cherries, leather and some tabacco. High alcohol 15%. It soon became clear that we had to drink quickly. Because when we wait the wine become more acidic. A great wine that had its best time. But what a beautiful wine evening!!!!!

Mentholé, résine, raisins secs, médicinal. Bouche pleine, chocolat menthe « aftereight », minéral. D’une jeunesse incroyable.  fabuleux ! 😍

Bottled in 1985. This wine show actually some more youth then the ‘81. Just amazing to try it, right from the winery.

48 year old and still going strong, amazing! Aged however with good balance, lots of racin and plum.

20 agosto 2023. Aperto anno 1975. Lasciato respirare per 28 ore. Colore mattone con riflessi arancioni. Al naso la complessità è difficile da raccontare, legno vaniglia tabacco frutta matura cotta note agrumate spezie alcolicità spiccata cacao e cannella. In lontananza miele e fiori. In bocca come prima cosa senti la struttura alcolica ma non invasiva. A seguire cacao vaniglia legno frutta matura...

Secco, pastoso

Unfortunately our wine had gone bad and tasted like vinegar :/ it had been re-corked in 1994 only.. Abstaining from giving stars on this.

tawny in color this 1981 classic was a pleasure to drink, even though it might be a little bit past it's prime, it was still a wonderful experience. Thanks Gerard.
