8 years of love brings you this wonder which serves brilliantly as a digestif. Everyone around the table tried it and everybody loved it. We easily finished it in small, elegant glasses. It hums on the nose - nutty, oaky sweetness. It’s a gorgeous colour like clear toffee or caramel but not too sweet. And to sip it is smooth and light but really quite powerful. Nice Oloroso Sherry. Deep amber color with strong legs. Pronounced nose of orange peel, dried apricot, mocha, burnt sugar and dried leaves. Full body, high acidity and high alcohol volume. Starts off dry, gets drier every second after, turning completely dry in long, warming finish. The palate is rich and wide starting with baked apple, prune, dried fig and raisin, then expanding towards walnuts, caramel and also adding some interesting flavours of cinnamon, saline and smoke in pleasing finish.

Enjoyed by the glass in my local wine shop at the weekend, this is a textbook example of dry Oloroso, aged in Solera (no flor). Wonderful mahogany colour. All about dry roasted hazelnuts and almonds up front. No shortage of other descriptors: cigar, tea leaves, baked apple (or apple skin), chamomile, hints of green olive. alfonso oloroso アルフォンソ オロロソ NV スペイン アンダルシア パロミノ100% 琥珀色なので、マディラかな〜と思ったら飲んだら辛くてシェリーと判明。 ドライフィグ、キャラメルやはちみつ、ナッツの香り。イースト感や、海藻感は薄め。複雑で良い香り。 酸は強め、アルコール度数17%と酒精強化では普通。後味は苦味を残してゆっくり消えていく。紹興酒に似ているけど、紹興酒は酸味が無いので、酸味が欲しいときはこっちのシェリー酒で。 紹興酒的に使って良い、水餃子とかに合いそう。あとはパエリアやマッシュルームのアヒージョとかも美味しいだろうな〜。 tio pepeより好き!
