8 years in a solera system, this Oloroso style is powerful, yet gentle, layered, assertively oxidative and intense, yet elegant. Nutty, with hints of caramel, red apple, leather. Bone dry, high in alcohol, medium+ acidity and high salinity, this is an aperitif for acquired tastes, and would pair well with olives, tapas and iodine seafood like oysters.

Gonzalez-Byass and Tio Pepe are related bodegas that share the stage at the tour. This Palomino based sherry has an oxidative style with alcohol level just beyond the point that the flor would not survive (Abv 18%). Tones of baked apple - orange marmalade- pineapple - white pepper - melon - sea salt - flint - vanilla - some oak tasting - caramel.

One more time i am not big specialist for Sherry, but this one is realy wonderful dry Oloroso , fine oxidative note and ageing in solera, fantastic with cigar :))

For me this one is simple outstanding, but I am crazy about Sherries. It is pronouced, complex and balanced with long finish. The Sevre example of oxidative agening.

Surprising smell of wallnuts or something else :-). Taste is also nuts but mixed with citrus and a little bitter. Very complex and interesting for a traditional wine drinker.

So drinkable, utterly classic, a Christmas treat. From an 8 year solera. More fruit than I would usually expect to encounter 🇪🇦 N: Very salty, classic salted almonds. Sweet apple, toffee apple underneath. Quince, white pear. P: Hit of savoury - yeasty sourdough crust, roasted peanuts, macadamias. A burst of lemon juice, apple sauce jostles with the savoury notes. Jul 2022. Clear dark golden amber. Aromatic nutty, mushroom, Pu'er tea, Shaoxing wine, aged soy sauce and bitter caramel in nose. Dry, medium acidity with both fresh and dried mushrooms, aged Pu’er, and Shaoxing in palate. Good balance medium long finish. Typical oloroso.

4.1 Pours clear, amber. Scent is relatively mild, minor notes of oak and owidative nutty aspects. Taste is stronger. Dense body ( much thicker and robust than Palo cortado). Classic, basic Oloroso. Medium tawny color. Nose of mushroom, dried fruit, smoke, iodine, dried stone fruit dried fruit, iodine, salt, dried apricot, smoke, ash. Med+ body, med+ to high acidity, med+ finish.

Dry sherry with high alcohol. Very aromatic. Great gift that paired well with Spanish tapas. If I could get my hands on it I'd definitely buy again.

In the nose Walnuts and Raisins. Then more Walnuts, orange peel, leather, allspice and a hint of tobacco. Aromatic, but short if it is too cold. Lingers at room temperature.

Nice Oloroso Sherry. Deep amber color with strong legs. Pronounced nose of orange peel, dried apricot, mocha, burnt sugar and dried leaves. Full body, high acidity and high alcohol volume. Starts off dry, gets drier every second after, turning completely dry in long, warming finish. The palate is rich and wide starting with baked apple, prune, dried fig and raisin, then expanding towards walnuts, caramel and also adding some interesting flavours of cinnamon, saline and smoke in pleasing finish.

Has all the hallmarks of a typical Oloroso and great value. Lots going on! In its range is a fantastic choice. Everything you want from an Oloroso, with nutty aromas, walnuts, old furniture and a contrast between sweet toffee and salty olives. Always a good choice!

Dense creamy aroma. It greets you with fudge, toffee and condensed milk, which after a while give way to oxidative nutty and cognac voices. The taste is slightly watery, salty, with a powerful aftertaste of nuts and a wet rag. It will probably appeal to fans of cognac and cigars.

Enjoyed by the glass in my local wine shop at the weekend, this is a textbook example of dry Oloroso, aged in Solera (no flor). Wonderful mahogany colour. alfonso oloroso アルフォンソ オロロソ NV スペイン　アンダルシア パロミノ100% 琥珀色なので、マディラかな〜と思ったら飲んだら辛くてシェリーと判明。 ドライフィグ、キャラメルやはちみつ、ナッツの香り。イースト感や、海藻感は薄め。複雑で良い香り。 酸は強め、アルコール度数17%と酒精強化では普通。後味は苦味を残してゆっくり消えていく。紹興酒に似ているけど、紹興酒は酸味が無いので、酸味が欲しいときはこっちのシェリー酒で。 紹興酒的に使って良い、水餃子とかに合いそう。あとはパエリアやマッシュルームのアヒージョとかも美味しいだろうな〜。 tio pepeより好き！
