Großartiger Rotwein mit feinen Strukturen. Filigran, vielschichtig, keine zu intensiven Tannine, aber sehr fein. Ein wirklich besonderer Spätburgunder 👍🏻😎🍷

2013 schöne würzige offene Pinot Nase. Grosse Klasse. Am Gaumen, tolle Würze, Kräuter, dunkle Kirschen, und etwas Pflaumen. Schöne Länge auf reifen runden Tanninen und feiner Säure. (19/20) so kann Pinot.... aus Deutschen Landen.

Sehr feiner Spätburgunder welcher total diverse Ebenen hat. Super Holz, welche die Noten nach Kaffee; Leder; Schokolade stark herausstellt. Tolle Frucht nach Erdbeere und Himbeere und schwarzem Pfeffer. Langanhaltend im Mund und fein im Abgang - leider typisch für einen Deutschen; etwas zu viel Säure.

Für einen Spätburgunder eine tiefrote Farbe. In der Nase Sternanis, Waldfrucht und leichte Gewürznoten. Im Mund herrlich balanciert, Johannisbeeren, Cranberries. Jetzt gerade trinkreif, vielleicht sogar noch ein bis zwei Jahre warten.

Tirsdag aften søgte jeg i ly hos min vinkompagnon @[1|23087948|Stefan Linde Almquist] og da jeg mærkede en enerverende lyst til god vin, smækkede jeg enkeltmarks-spätburgunder fra Pfalz fra 2016 i karaflen. Det skulle vise sig, at blive en vidunderlig oplevelse. Både i næse og mund bød vinen henover et par timer på et hav af noter: aske, kul, hindbær, marzipan, sort oliven, stegte svampe, våd skovbund, balsamico, grøn peber, modnet ost, makroner, tyttebær/ribs og jeg kunne blive ved. Enorm smags

Heerlijke geur van rijp bosfruit. Aards. In smaak ook mooi rood rijp fruit en vanille. Aangevuld met aardse tonen. Top.

Im Glas zeigt der Wein eine für einen Spätburgunder ungewohnt dunkle Farbe. In der Nase dann entsprechend volle Kirscharomen 🍒, gepaart deutlichen mit Rauch- bzw. Röstaromen 🔥 🪵 . Obwohl der Wein mit 0,0 Gramm Restzucker komplett durchvergoren wurde, ist da in der Nase zudem eine tolle, feine Süße, die etwas an Marzipan erinnert 🥧. Die Säure ist perfekt eingebunden. Ein unglaublich feiner, frischer Wein🍾🍷!

Rijp donker fruit inmiddels, zacht!, aards/stal. Mooi ontwikkeld (2023 gedronken, oogst 2016). Onder de indruk.

Gerade sehr rund, harmonisch, lebendig, warm.

Braucht Luft um auf Touren zu kommen, dann wirklich echt gut. 18 zeigt sich hier eher warm mit charmanter roter Frucht und viel Eleganz. Zurecht gehandelt als einer der besten deutschen Pinots.

Gestern war Rings Abend. Geiler Spätburgunder! Schöne Cassis Note, saftig und gleichzeitig wunderbar kühles Mundgefühl. Der hat richtig Spaß gemacht. Wird sicher noch besser!

Wow is this a German Spätburgunder? Apparently it is, and a clear sign that the youngsters are taking over. This is as close as you get to burgundy without spending top money. Still young, crazy reductive, cherry, forest fruits, earthiness, oak spice and vanilla(which will definitely fade over time) insanely delicious!

Dark fruit, barrique tones, vanilla, very fresh for it's age, cassis, long finish, nice acidity still.

Schön fruchtig nach Kirsche, Schlehe und Zwetschge. Dazu Holz, Rauch und eine Nuance feinster Speck. Am Gaumen ein Meer an Kirschen, dezent laktisch, erdig, blumig, Waldboden, guter Zug, frische Säure und seidige Tannine. Im Abgang mit ordentlich Grip, Salz und Veilchen. Macht mir jetzt schon großen Spaß, hat aber noch einiges Potential. 🇺🇦

I had a lot of pleasure tasting the villages level wine. This Erste Lage (equivalent of 1er cru) is a clear step up. Beautiful red fruit. Acidity is quite high, it carries the wine subtly and pops back out at the end. It's mouth-watering! Wood effect is clearly present, but not overbearing. I feel it's well managed. Good purity of fruit, with a subtle earthiness that gives a nice complexity. Definitely beats many a Burgundy for a fraction of the price.

Tiefer komplexer Pinot Noir ERSTE LAGE, reduktiv, rotbeerig, Tabak und Ledernoten, würzig, leicht nach Blutorangen, fester Körper mit schönem Trinkfluss, kräftig mit schönem Säuregerüst, saftig und lang endend, macht Spass! Weinreise 2024 - Nachtessen in Burrweiler 17.10.

Paving my way into the top terroirs of the German wine with this bottle of Pinot noir from Rings. On the nose chocolate, vanilla, then black cherry, boysenberry, flint stone. Long finish, supported by medium high acidity throughout the palate. Tannins are very low. Amazingly sleek and elegant palate, almost velvety. Still i couldn't discern a significant difference with the more affordable Spätburgunder Gutswein with the grapes from the same terroir. The latter seems like better value for price

With a smoky and herbal smell of black and red forest berries, rose hips, some tobacco, cherry nuances, herbs, pepper and suede. Tight, herbal and youthful fruit with present fine grained tannins, some acid bite,a slight smoky and nutty woodiness and some soft roasted , floral and mineral sensations in the background. Finishes with a juicy , slightly saline ending !

Consistent with my previous TN‘s and for me the final proof that the Rings brothers belong to the phalanx of the german winemakers...not only the Rieslings are masterpieces but also the PN‘s are witnesses of their talent!

Opened this bottle 3 hours before our guests arrived. Winery Rings, pinot noir Steinacker vintage 2016. 🔝 pinot noir. Delicious, dark fruits and some sandalwood on the nose, ripe cherries, on the palate blackcurrants, smooth oaked tannins on this vintage 2016. Medium-long finish, elegant and very delicious. After the marvelous Kallstadt ‘16 from last week I decided to give this one a shot. Where the Kallstadt was incredibly Burgundian this ‘15 Steinacker is definitely more German, but a good one for sure. More fruit-driven with Cherry, strawberry and some blueberry. The fruit-weight clearly shows the ripeness the ‘15 vintage. There’s a nice spiciness on the back palate. Well integrated wood, nice acidity and tannin backbone. Good wine but not as mind blowing as the Kallstadt ‘16

Die Lage hat eine hohen Kalkanteil. Spontane Gärung nach kurzer Mazerationszeit. Awsomeness in a bottle! A bit wild for a "spät" i think makes me think of biodynamic wine when i drink it.

力強いピノノワールのワイン。 香りは黒コショウ、クローブに、チョッピリシナモンを感じさせるスパイシーさがあり、味わいはピノにしてはやや強めのタンニン分があるが、しつこい感じではなくスルッと下の上を通る。 余韻も滑らかで心地良く、13%ながらも酔い心地は爽やかで、ワインそのものの質の良さを感じさせてくれる。

Mycket trevlig spätburgunder från bra producent. Mycket härliga röda bär, fin syra och ganska mycket kropp. Blev perfekt till kvällens kyckling.

Good stuff

Erg lekkere spatbugunder, ondergewaardeerd aan de Vivino beoordeling te zien. Soepel en zurig in de mond, zuurtje is vrij pittig maar vluchtig! Blijft een zachte slok in je mond over met een medium-lange afdronk. Geur: rood & zwart fruitig, met een verre organische touch als leer, tabak, rokerig eikenhout. Smaak: mooie zuren; citrus, zuurtje van hibiscus en cranberry passeren de revue, met een licht aardse (beetje mineraal) ondertoon.

Duitsers maken kwaliteit en spat zuivere pinot noir. Hele “ slanke “ wijn met genoeg power, in eerste instantie reductie in het neusje maar na een half uur begint dit erg mooi te worden. Rood klein fruit , prachtig zuurtje, mineralen, aards en iets rokerigs. Tweede glas en het gaat naar complexere wijn. Ai onlie see zis wans 😉

Nachtrag Weinprobe Junge Pfalz. Rote Frucht, Stein, Waldboden - aber immer noch schöne Frische. Schön trinkbar

What a nice Spätburgunder! Seriously stinky, needs serious aeration. But then a pretty good wine reveals itself; lovely dark fruit, a touch of smoke and a lactic tone. Lean and mild spicy on the palate. Med tannins, med/med+ acidity. Good fraicheur. A lot of wine for the price. 15 pts.

Even Rings’ entry level Spätburgunder is a 4 star experience! Smoky and herbal nose with cinnamon, black & red currant and juniper followed by a fruity, mineralic palate with balanced nice acidity & bit toasted tannins, black & red currant and long, creamy finish.

Clearly well made entry from a famed Germans domaine. Could cellar more years. Tad crude still. Straight forward Spätburgunder. Clean, jammy, tight.

Rings tasting 1 / 7 - VDP Gutswein - very nice entry level burgundy from the guys that like to think they make the best Red Burgundy in Germany …

Typical characteristics of a nicely aged Pinot Noir, tart cherries, earthiness and easy spicy tannins. This 2021 German Pinot Noir has a nose and finishing notes of petroleum and motor oil.

Cherry, flint and pomegranate and mushroom nose, cherry strawberry on light body, dark chocolate and tobacco. Finish on a lightly smoked earthy forest floor. Better when left to breathe.

(3.9) A lot better than the grade it got here. Lovely bouquet, strawberryish candy with a hint of citrus. Typical pinot taste and colour. Shame that people are rating this as low as they do.

Gikk først blindt til pinot, men noe særegent over dette gjorde at jeg endte på grenache. Juicy, lett struktur, men i balanse. Noe red fruit, men ellers vanskelig å pinpointe smakene helt

Die Vivino App entpuppt sich immer dann wenn man bei der Bewertung eines Weines unterbrochen wird als kompletter MÜLL. So, nachdem ich das Smartphone entsperrt habe ist mein ganzer angefangener Text (270 Zeichen) verloren gegangen. Also aus dem Gedächtnis: Rings Spätburgunder Steinacker gehört seit Jahren zur festen Kellerfüllung. Der Jahrgang 2015 ist noch nicht mal der Älteste. Der Wein riecht typisch nach Spätburgunder und schmeckt auch danach. Fest am Gaumen, mittlerer bis kräftiger Abgang.

Farbe: dunkelrot, transparent Nase: Sauerkirschen und dunkle Frucht, etwas Kaffe und Rauch, maskulin Mund: schöner Säurenerv, Sauerkirschsaft, trocken Ein toller Spätburgunder von Rings aus der Pfalz, der eher auf der aktuell eher auf maskulinen und fleischigen Seite daherkommt. In dem Preissegment ein spannender Vertreter der sicher mit etwas Reife noch weiter zulegen wird. Sowohl schön zu Essen als auch Solo ein toller Wein.

Riktignok ikke kveldens toppvin , men det var nok kveldens største overraskelse. Kommer stadig bedre og bedre rødvin fra Tyskland. Leskende og juicy med snill godt balansert syre og ditto snille runde tanniner. Røde bær som kirsebær og jordbær samt eik og noe pepper.

Steadfast Spätburgunder, with a recognisable own style. Tad more sturdy. Layered and rich, deep integrated tannins and fruit notes, under a mineral driven spine. This comes from limestone terroir, young slopes.

Rings tasting 4 / 7 - VDP Erste Lage - nice but I prefer the Steinacker red E.L. to this one. This is more fruity, less complex and less herbal in my view.

Kräftig, würziger Vetreter dieser Sorte. Angenehme Balance aus Säure und Frucht. Guter Trinkfluss und mit 10J gut in Form.

So komisch es klingt, aber kommt nicht an den ortswein ran. Relativ normaler eleganter deutscher pinot. Das krieg ich auch für 20€. Vielleicht ist da mehr Potential. Der 2020er kriegt diese Zeit im Keller.

A very attractive Spatburgunder, which is developing nicely. Pale ruby, med+ intensity aromas of cranberries, red plum, dried strawberries, peppered salami, charred corn, slight hint of barnyard. Supple and elegant, juicy red fruits and silky medium tannins, m+ acidity, m flavours of red apple, raspberry, cranberry, medium alcohol, vanilla subtle oak on the medium length finish. Good wine, well made and will continue to develop more complex tertiary aromas over the coming years.

This German Pinot Noir has a unique smell of forest floor, sour cherry and rhubarb. Deep red color and a absolute smooth taste. Perfect with grilled chicken.

Young German pinot noir from Pfalz. Earthy, leather, jam notes, bit spicy, barnyard smell. Need to breathe it, easy to drink and light spatbutgunder. Maybe will be even better in some years.

A bit heavy handed on the oak, adding vanilla, cedar, and baking spice, the nose reminds me of good bourbon. The fruit is nice though with red apple, deep cherry, strawberry, in addition to the fresh apple there is an obtrusive bruised apple. Some potting soil and tobacco as well. I have a feeling the grapes are great but the wine making wants to outshine them and does, unfortunately.

Barrel sample of the village appellation Pinot Noir. It should not surprise you also this one is top notch. Elegant in general, bit closed and also still a bit restless, with nice acidity and pleasant light tannins. Will certainly settle down when it’s bottled and got a year or two to develop in the bottle. Sour cherry, chocolate, green herbs. Light oak.

Nase ist verschlossen. Wenig Tannine aber klare trockene Tiefe. Kurzer, würziger Abgang. Hat Potential, in einigen Jahren noch einmal geöffnet zu werden.

Klares helleres Rot im Glas. Vanille und Eiche überdecken den leichten Geruch von Kirsche. Geschmacklich erdig mit einer dann doch präsenteren Fruchtnote, gepaart mit johannisbeeriger frischer Säure. Cremig. Für mich leider ein bisschen zu viel Eiche. Am zweiten Tag wesentlich offener, viel mehr Sauerkirscharomen. Also gebt dem Pinot genug Luft 👌

Very good Spätburgunder from the Pfalz. This Erste Lage site is the highest of the estate at around 220 m asl with calcareous soils ideal for Riesling and Spätburgunder. The aspect is south-east. Rings work with various cover crops for biodiversity, grapes Armee hand harvested, sorted, partially destemmed and then fermented in open wooden vats. Maturation in used and new barriques. Pale ruby, expressive nose with red fruit and gentle oak integration. The palate is gentle and complex, needs time

I’m a novice in German Pinot Noir so don’t read too much into my rating but this was a nice surprise. Smoky cherry raspberry nose and palate. Soft tannins.

On the nose smoke oak leather and forest floor. On the palate is strawberry and sour cherry the finish is nice strawberry with a bit of leather and a bit of vanilla

Overall 3.8 @ Praelum: Appearance is clear medium ruby. Smell is pronounced with aromas of cherry, oak and minerals. Taste is dry, medium acidity, light tannins and medium bodied with long finish.

Erste Lage Leistadter Kalkofen, hoch gelegen am Waldrand, 2023 aktuell noch sehr kräftige Säure, Wein ingesamt kraftvoll und würzig. 2025 noch etwas unzugänglich, könnte aber toll reifen. Aktuell fehlt mir die Eleganz.

Medium robijnrood. Kersen, rode & zwarte bessen, snufje keer. Aan de donkere / stevige kant. Tannines medium, zuren medium+. Drinkt nu lekker weg

Pleasant German Pinot, earthy, minerals, soft, red fruit , touch of smoke tobacco

Rings, tophuis in witte Riesling en rode PN. Deze erste lage PN is veel te jong en dat maakt haar iets minder toegankelijk. Liggen laten, dit is bijna zonde. Potentie is zeer aanwezig.

A German Pino Noir.. red cherries minerals and high acidity. Not my first choice… Pfaltz area is considered the German Burgundy

This is neat. A 4.5-star nose on a 3.5-star wine, to be fair. Deftly balanced acidity and tannins but just a bit lacking in fruit excitement. Still, I would have guessed a basic Côtes du Nuits, no offence at all!

Light to medium body with notes of strawberry, garden cress, minerals, dill, vanilla, fermented apple and clove. Overpriced.

Fruity and mild on the nose, when u dive in it gives you more of a bitterish taste of dark berries. Some nutty taste as well. Good QPR and Nice with 12,5 alc. Since this is Rings cheapest juice there should be more to offer from the german producer. A good wine thats ready to be enjoyed now!

Fin frukt god syre minerals

Braucht etwas Luft. Schönes Holz. Leichte erdige Noten. Säure mit Schmelz. Ok.

Lichte houtopvoeding en milde tannines. Aards, koffie en leer.

Väldigt god. Jordgubb, lite hallon och körsbär. Även lite läder. Oväntat hög syra och lite syrlig eftersmak. Hade den varit 50kr billigare hade den fått en 4:a.

Generous spätburgunder with great expression of terroir and ripe red berries. A little strawberry on the finish. Acidity is crisper than expected.

Just a hint o leather in the nose. The taste is rather fruity with a sweet touch that I didn't expect. Some lightred cheeries and raspberries is notable. A nice aftertaste.

Very fresh with red berries, spices and mineral notes. Still very young.

Nice spatburgunder from Freinsheim, pfalz region known for excellent pinot noir production This bad boy is big on oak , at first masking some flavour but not unpleasant. A good decant revealed its true colors and terroir Standout stuff

I first came across the Riesling wines produced by Rings, one of the numerous upcoming wineries in the Pfalz, already honores with a membership in the VDP two years ago, and increasingly showing fantastic results in red. It is quite young, but in combination with a rich beetroot risotto the spiciness of the new wood used that shows quite clearly in the nose, it is a gorgeous match. Quite tight, with straight tannins that keep it a bit closed, but something I wouldn't mind cellaring for a couple

Very nice surprise. Light, elegant, long, punchy acidity. May need another 2-3 years resting though.

Sehr angenehmer, intensiver Duft nach Himbeeren. Im Gaumen leicht Kohlensäure haltig (das mag ich gar nicht und hoffe es wird sich noch abbauen). Langer schöner Abgang.

Erstaunlich offen, glockenklare Kirschfrucht Und blutige Mineralität. Von vielen „kühlen“ Spätburgundern ein gefühlt wärmerer Kandidat. Prägnante Säure

Second review of this wine. Still very solid, with lively acidity and nice tannins.

Pinot mit Freunden. Der Rings hatte es nicht leicht an dem Abend. In der Nase zurückhaltend nahezu verschlossen. Am Gaumen wirkte er noch etwas ausser Balance. Fast spitz in der Säure. Vlt. hätte er noch etwas Reife benötigt, das Potenzial hat er.

Juicy and light, this shows an elegant and feminine side of Pinot. Needs a bit more time to come together, but drinks well but very fine and delicate today already.

Für den Preis dann doch ein wenig enttäuschend. Kirsche und dezentes Holz. Etwas kurzer Abgang. Da bekommt man mehr für den Preis.

Sehr komplex, Brombeere und Cassis, noch sehr starke Säure, ewiger Abgang.

Fruchtig macht schon Spaß, noch zu jung

Wederom een weinig beoordeelde wijn van rings, een tophuis dat meer drinkers verdient. Deze rode PN is echt te jong, zonde om nu open te maken. Nog wat stroef, gewoon even liggen laten. Met de kwaliteit van Rings is dit over een paar jaar goddelijk.

De laatste spätburg. van Rings die we proefden was afkomstig van ‘very cool-climate sites’ in onze uitvalsbasis Leistadt. 20 maanden in 75% nieuw eik en geen klaring of filtering. Ondanks de ligging van de lage vond ik het rode fruit wat zwoeler overkomen. Topintensiteit daarnaast. Houtvanille ligt er nog wel dik op; echt babymoord dit. Conclusie tav de ‘17 pinots van Rings: allemaal nog wat hevig qua structuur en sowieso minder gepolijst en pleasing qua stijl dan nabijgelegen producenten. € 3

Very savory, like a blackened steak. 2020

Blind geproefd bij Femina. Duidelijk herkenbare spatburgunder. Vdp. Lichte kleur. Wat zurig. Mogelijk hele mooie potentie, maar met 2020 nog te jong. Komt nog niet voldoende uit het glas. Blijft daardoor wat gesloten.

En lidt lukket sag til at begynde med, der dog - med noget ilt - folder sig ud som en ganske fin vin. En halvsaftig spät med masser af røde bær. Afrundes udmærket efter iltning. Bedst ved middeltemperatur. Tipper lidt, både hvis den blir for kold eller varm.

Medium bodied German Pinot-ish red. Soft acids. Tannins though were very drying. Not unpleasant but then I would look for something else.

2018er, unfiltriert. Tansparent und licht im Glas. Kirschig und würzig in der Nase. Am Gaumen Erdbeere, Kirsche, Säure, trocken, eher schmaler Körper.

2016. Varietal marker are here in the background, some black fruits trying to show up. Oak and vanilla are much more present, may be too dominant. It lacks some balance but the great acidity tempers the woody notes. Good but will get better in 2-3 years.

Very Young and light. Strawberry, other red berries and oak.

Very complex and full smell of champignons, perfumed berries and tobacco. Green tannins in the mouth.

Hmmm... It's certainly nice. But it lands a bit close to generic dry red. Lots of balance, not so much interest.
