Dark and fruity with nice structure. BlackBerry, vanilla and herbs. It has a good balance of juicy fruit and wordy structure. Mencia grape.

Deep purple color in glass. Blueberry notes in nose. Palate has notes of cherry, vanilla, and oak. Smoke notes fill out the finish.

Start by saying it's an excellent value. Ripe and jammy, with a lot of various herbs and spices, thyme sage cinnamon, deep dark plums and cherries. A lot of tannins, but we'll balanced with the somewhat canned-peaches sweetness. The city was fine, it didn't stand out, lord of the alcohol which is surprising since it's quite high 14.5%. it doesn't have that funk that I've had from other mencias. But for the price it's a welcome all-night-sipper

Medium ruby in color. Nose of black currant, ripe cherry, and licorice. Dry, high tannins, high acidity, full body. Palate of blackberry and crushed gravel. Decanting for 45 min or more really allows this wine to open to its fullest potential.

A Spanish surprise wine. Explosion of ripen dark berries and earthy notes on nose. Dark red ruby colour with high texture. Plum vanilla chocolate and light tobacco on palate. Fruity longlasting aftertaste.

Aldi 4.99 black currant fruity underlying dryness can be drunk on its own medium bodied - would be good with pasta I think

This is by far not the highest quality of wine but I love the taste. Dark fruit, light oak, and earthy flavor. Low acidity, soft easy drink tannins. But doesn’t have the length, complexity, or sophistication of a great wine. But for the value, $10, wow. This is great.

Scents of black licorice and forests. Nice spiciness with up front tannins balanced by a good fruit and acid structure tasting of blackberries, plum and fir.

Inky garnet. Nose is elusive. Earthy, tanky at beginning. Then settled down. Dark fruit and etoh. Taste: med to full mouthfeel, almost jammy, blackberry and black cherry. Well integrated acids and tannins. Not a long finish. Very pleasant. Had with salmon burritos and salsa macha. Stood up

Lots of character. Black fruit with lots of licorice on the sniff. Oak is there but it doesn’t need to be there. Juicy mouth that stays lively through to the finish.

Herrlich kühle Aromatik, würzig, Waldbeeren, sehr volles Aroma, trotzdem relativ frisch und nicht besonders schwer. Super Alltagswein.

Bon vi blanc monovarietal. Bon balanç àcid-dolç.

3.3 It was okay. A bit disappointing, didn’t really taste like a Mencia, and was lacking that great Bierzo taste that I was looking for.

Rich and smooth, the Mencia brings the typical ripe blueberry and cherry notes, vanilla and a hint of chocolate. Very enjoyable for $10!!!!

I think it should be given better credit than a bottom 12% rating. I like the wine and think it has a nice fruit taste with a good balance of tenants I enjoy its balanced dry finish.

Cherry, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, vanilla The palate is almost effervescent. Med sweet, med to high acidity, med tannin, high alcohol, med body, and a med finish.

Not having a lot of Mencia makes it a little harder to compare to others. This expression feels a little richer with fuller more ripe fruit. Sweet anise, fresh flowers and a touch chocolate. Fresh zingy acid and soft smooth tannin. All in all a great bottle of wine and I think many would enjoy.

Very different, but very nice wine. Tastes like Spanish wines. I don't know a lot about Mencia grapes, but the wine "ain't bad" at all. How's that for technical wine chat. Good fruits, good nose. Hints of cherries, vanilla, and spices. A bit more tannins than previous wines I rated.

Dark fruit, dried fruit, cinnamon, licorice, spices, herbs, vanilla and chocolate. A bright, acidic tartness somewhat overshadows some of the richer tasting notes. Plenty to like here, but wouldn't necessarily seek out again.

It’s a lively and vibrant Mencia, dark berries, oaky, gamy on the nose. High acidity, high tannins, rich flavors, high alcohol, good complexity, good finish. The tannin quality is quite good, very good bargain for this price.

If this was a 1-5 star scale of wines overall, I would not give this a 3.5, but it is a good wine. I will assume this is a good variety of the Mencia grape, this is my first time drinking this type of wine. Bitter/sour, but just enough that it isn’t gross or tastes like it’s gone bad. Has a decent amount of body and fullness. It is peppery and the taste stays for a bit after each drink. It’s no Cab but would definitely recommend.

Acceptable quality. Nothing wrong. High volume heavy mencia from Bianco. Black fruits, clove, licorice, some old mushroom leather developed. High alcohol is the first impression. Dry. M- acid, high course tannin - guess long time maceration with skin. Full body. Nice table wine with food. A bit rough if only drinking. M length of flavor but long long lasting of harsh tannin which is not beneficial for me for sure.

Veel zwart fruit. Beetje droog.

Smells good, but weak, watered down body? Very tart with hints of underripe raspberries. Must have been a bad year for Spain 🤷🏼‍♀️
