Tres tres bon.
Excellent. Bold tannin. Dark fruit. Terroir driven
Bacon, plums, my god. 🤤🤤🤤
An outstanding wine - beautiful aromas of vanilla cinnamon and cocoa as well as notes of blackberry leather black cherry plum. Complex and smooth a special occasion red to savour.
Exceptionnel !
Cornerstone Wine Event: Old World VS New World Dark fruit black cherry plum dried herbs pepper oak leather
Vignobles tasting group at the Texas Wine School Houston, October 5 2023 3 of 6 Syrah. Deep ruby purple hues. Nose underripe black plum, blackberry, cut grass, mint, oak, spice. Palate light plum, mint, black currant. Acid M+, alcohol H, tannin M+, finish M+, body Full. Quality high V Good 4.4.
Waouh !
Excellent vin. Notes de graphite. Jolie longueur.

Nota: 4.5 ⭐️ I apologize to everyone who follows me due to my technical notes, following the WSET standard. However, I will not post any technical note as long as Vivino lets users who don't drink the posted wines remain in the rankings, like Elcio Roberto Roque Vinho degustado na vinícola Domaine Remizieres, em Mercurol-Veaunes, no dia 05 de agosto de 2022 (Wine tasted at Domaine Remizieres winery, in Mercurol-Veaunes, on August 05, 2022) Saúde a todos meus amigos do Vivino! 🍾🥂🍷🍇 Cheers
A positive surprise. Smoke, graphite, white pepper, bell pepper- and bramble And a long finish - caught everyone’s attention
Complex wine with full body. Notes of black cherry, raspberry jam, blueberry, blackberry, savory and vanilla. Dense and concentrated taste. Enjoyable!
Deep dark red colour. Herbs, black berries and cherries in the nose. Fruity taste, black berries, pepper and some oak. Full bodied and still som ”strikt” tannines.
Thanks to Hopwine event online. Dark purple red wine. Hinds of leather pepper vanilla blackberry plum licorice. Medium sweetness body tannic high acidity. Long finish.
Excellent. New world feel in an old world wine. Lacking the tartness and minerality usually felt in old world. Ripe black and blue fruits, well balanced, round feel, soft tannins- loved it.
loved this wine, and it’s in a really good spot. Very well-integrated tannins, long finish of spicy black pepper and mulled blackberries. Medicinal quality that is very pleasing.
Medium body , high acidity but well balanced , fresher fruits vs Bordeaux ,Barolo --red fruits , strawberry, cherries , light tannin ,good to match with food but also great on its own
earthy minerals graphite leather pepper white pepper licorice blackberry black cherry blackcurrant black fruit vanilla chocolate tobacco coffee raspberry strawberry cherry toast cheese prune
Perfect pair with homemade steak frites. Full- body with a deep ruby color. Nose of blueberry, barbecue meat, vanilla and olive tapenade. Tastes of plum sauce, bacon fat and pepper. Long and tart finish with fine grained medium to high tannins and a touch of smoke to it. Somewhat pricey at $55 but worth it. A bit tight when first opened but an hour of decanting did the trick to smooth it out. 9/10
Extra point for this pocketbook friendly Hermitage delivered by Domaine des Remizières that has been delivering excellent Northern Rhône offerings, this deep purple concoction is no exception, mineral driven nose with notes of slate, graphite, India ink, blueberry, blackcurrant, black licorice, clove, sage, garrigue, sandalwood and wet concrete floor, full body with refined tannin and fresh acidity, raised with 100% new French oak, tastes of black cherry, raspberry compote, clove, cacao, hazelnu
Rich, seductively long and densely packed with a palette of dark, spicy flavours the wine still has a poise which allows it to float rather than thud. But so very young. Four passes through the Vinturi (equivalent to a four hour decant) were required to coax the wine to approachability today. Looking forward to my next bottle in perhaps ten years’ time! Fantastic.
Looking at the releases in bottle, the 2011 Hermitage Cuvée Emilie is another rock star that offers thrilling notes of black raspberry, charcoal, leather, pepper and serious minerality to go with a rich, full-bodied profile on the palate. Fresh, pure and lively, with surprising density and depth in the vintage, it will benefit from another year or three in the cellar, and drink nicely through 2031.
Plum and tobacco on the. Ode followed by notes of oil or as I prefer “old school bus.” Masculine, yet surprisingly fruity on the finish with notes of blueberry and milk chocolate. Fantastic. Hermitage is a gift to us from heaven. John 3:16-18.
Had this for Super Syrah Saturday as a head to head with the 🇨🇱 09 It clearly needed more time in the decanter but when it came out, it did so with a bang A lesson in Syrah making-restraint yet expressive I’m a classy way Bags of violets, black and blueberry pastilles, white pepper on the nose Medium bodied blackberry, damsons and a bit of blueberry liqueur with black olive skin, smokey bacon, espresso, cloves and mixed black and white pepper to finish Smashed it👍🏿🍷😍
Beautiful Mostly Marsanne wine from the Rhone valley. The producer, philippe Desmeures is somewhat of a perfectionist and this 1999 offers a perfect balance of fruit, lemon with hints of vanilla and oak, toast and honey and a beautiful crisp and clear gold color. It does not get much better than that for that sort of appellation and that sort of price.
Salons vins de terroir Seclin #42, enkel rating
Purple. Blueberries blackcurrants meat oak leather tobacco smoke and forest floor on both nose and palate. Lovely and well integrated acidity and tannins. Well balanced. Good length and fruit intensity. Very good concentration. Wonderful Hermitage 🍷👍😀
Very nice! So rich, complex and elegant. Need to breathe for a while. I’d open it later - 6y seem quite early for it Nose: pepper, meat and corn notes, goji berries, dust Palate: almond, red currant and similar red berries Long dried fruit finish with pleasant bitterness
Amazing stuff, a perfect example of good Hermitage. Distinct, mass of summer Rhone fruit. Night translucent red colour. Full, intense layers of raspberry perfectly balanced. Deep, long ultra smooth aftertaste. Wonderful, taken it a light spiced beef dish.
Superbe.
Gorgeous. Blackberry purée, charcoal and smoldering embers, raspberry liqueur. Firm tannins, this could go on aging for a very long time given the massive structure. Finishes with earthy, spice notes. Black pepper and Herbs de Garrigue. Boatloads of power.
Delicious treat on Boxing Day Deep ruby red colour Perfumed nose with lifted violet, black fruits, smoky, subtle spice Very elegant and pure on the palate with blackberry, black cherry and raspberry Black olive tapenade Smoked bacon Dried Mediterranean herbs Salty black liquorice, dark chocolate Chewy tannins, highacidity Lovely spicy finish with black pepper and star anise
Super leathery. Liquorish smell. Balanced. I’m not super impressed but very smooth and satisfying. Dark berry but not too rich.
This Syrah is super smooth..nice nose, blackberry, vanilla, leather and spices long and pleasant taste. A bit peppery with black fruits. Paired super with a spicy sirloin….
Can’t really fault it apart from length. It’s incredibly complex with savoury notes and very aromatic, but it needs to last longer…
What a beauty! Fresh, good fruit and very very fine tannins. This bottle was open for a while and it clearly needs that. But it’s so good already now due to the fine tannins of the 2020 vintage. So can drink now, can drink in 15 or more yrs. I have a 2005 magnum which is good to go now. It’ll be interesting comparing these wines with 15 yrs of age difference. Cheers
Deep garnet with developing amber edge. Now ripe dark cherry dried strawberry overripe plum. Body is chalky with initial ripe fruit with dissolves to vanilla mineral wet stone. Elegant finish
Leather, black fruit, earthy, bold and rounded tannins that coats the mouth luxuriantly. Drinks young at 8 years old. 2014 apparently produced a lean style not a vintage for long-term ageing. This tastes promising though to age. Nose- smells like an amarone.
4,3 This 2017 Cuvee Emilie of Remizières is a 100% Syrah from 40y-old vines (Les Grandes Vignes, above L’Ermite) on granite soil. The nose opened with hints of meat, smoke and black olive tapenade. With more air (4h decanter) : cassis and blueberries appeared with a floral and herbal undertone of violets and mint. Full-bodied, rich and very concentrated on the palate. But nothing is overdone (in ripeness). It’s still a bit grippy with a long, licorice-tinged finish. Ending with ripe tannins. Lo
Northern Rhone tasting Domaine des Remizieres Cuvee Emilie 2010 Hermitage red! This wine is in top shape, really at peak this one, it became way better than 5 years ago! The wine has power, has a dark ruby colour with purple shine, 100% syrah, aged 15 months in wood. The nose with dark fruits, black pepper, spices. In taste great juicy balanced body, black fruits, eucalyptus, black pepper, leather, lovely tannins, still fine acidity around but all tastes in great portions. Rate 4,3⭐️
Comforting flavourful wine, like a big hug from mum while the roast is cooking in the oven. Blackberry fruit. Then baking spices and black pepper. Herbaceous elements like rosemary, thyme and pine which provide that classic garrigue characteristic. After some time there is some roasted meat. I love such heady wines full of perfume and full-bodied flavour.
Wijnbeurs-voorbereiding in stijl Ook hier stuk betere fles dan vorige maal...
2004 is really 21 years ago? The year I graduated Uni, how my palate has changed! This wine has held up. Nose is sautéed buttery mushroom. Meaty and earthy, pepper lingering and fruit persists!
Deep purple in color. In nose blackberries, dried prunes, black currants, baked fruit pie, potting soil, caramel, vanilla. On palate, medium high acidity, high tannins (likely from oak), riepe bing cherries blackberries, light roast coffee caramel milk chocolate
For tonight’s pesto pairing we go to a surprisingly smooth Hermitage that I think I hurt by decanting. 🤕 Violet, hazelnut, loads of freshly ground black pepper and a whack of well-integrated oak to boot. Oh, and dark fruit too. Great pickup for £45 during Waitrose sale. I can report they have a no questions asked policy on bad bottles after the first one was corked.
The nose explodes with blackberry, violet, and cracked pepper, layered with bacon fat, espresso, and iron-like minerality. The full-bodied palate delivers dense fruit, muscular yet polished tannins, and a savory, graphite-laced finish that reflects its legendary terroir. 14.5% ABV with decades of aging potential until 2045+. A powerful yet refined expression from a rising star estate.

Dark fruit with a hint of oak and mushrooms. Mike tannins
Belle découverte
Lots of nature' aromas, manure, wet earth, some herbs and spices, taste very soft, restrained, bordering on indifference, rather abrupt finish.
The 2004 lacks the fullness of the 2003 & '05, however it is still a heavy and distinct hermitage. The full body and fruity tartness will surprise you, and impress.
Meaty nose - bacon, A1. Pepper, black currant, olive. Extremely earthy. Medium body looking but heavy tasting. Andis quarter birthday, 8.9.17, intro to northern Rhone
Deep ruby, dark cherries, black pepper, cured meats, chocolaty and smokey nose, more black pepper on the taste and less fruity. Balanced, complex wine, leave it to decant.
Another beast: barnyard, mushroom, raspberries, olive tapenade, this could be a mature Burg but there’s something more feral about this. It’s a little undefined around the edges, no Chave, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless.
Wonderful Syrah experience, my first Hermitage. Nose is in the beginning a bit closed, needs of lots of time and evolves slowly. Shows notes of red pepper, herbs and spices, red berry fruits and some hidden raspberry. Taste is purely great. Massive structure, powerful tannins (need also breathing!!!) paired with fresh acidity. Still a young wine! Keeping it in your mouth makes you smile! Very long finish with extra coffee and chocolate notes. This wine could age for another couple of years. 4+ s
Finally opened it and no regrets. brown colour tones of forrest bottom, wood and black berries. full bodied wine at its peak. Rich, spicy and powerful in its taste still with both some tannin and acidity but very harmonic. One to remember. Drink now.
A yummy hidden Hermitage @ £54 that’s a beauty still ageing well but drank well at 12-14c 🌡 in the 🇬🇧 🌞 Mrs Es new foxy friend liked it 😁 ⭐️ 4.25 🍇 100% Syrah 🍷 Deep blackened opaque ruby 👃 Heady gorgeous seduction of soft burnt wood chipped oak, farmyard, soggy earth, mulled blackberry smokey mist, violet potpourri, dark cherry, soft mint & black olive tapenade 👄 Med body of creamy silky slight sweet earthy blackberry in mocha w/ liquorice, raspberry & dark cherry 📝 more .. 👇
40 year old vines. 18 months in new oak. Obvious potential. Concentration and elegance. Dark berries, smoked bacon, earth, dried wood, vanilla, pepper. Well born tannins and perfect balance. Everything is ready for a decade in the cellar so whatever happens, don’t open it before 2023/24 !
Must be the only northern Rhone I haven't liked. Seems to be a taste of mushroom which I find odd. Seems to dominate the usual dark fruits and spice.
